Sorry if this is a bit long!
Briefly, PCN is on a car I no longer own. Bailiff company claim its from Nov 2012.
Bailiff clamped my car, on my drive, early in morning, didn't knock door, on which the PCN does not relate, and on calling bailiff, requested I pay nearly £600. Bailiff advises at the time there are another 4 PCN but are not enforceable yet.
Clamp fell off, (wasn’t me!)
On making a payment through their online facility the fees went up to £1330.30 inc £1.20 debit card fee.
I paid £215.44 (+ £1.20) which was on their original letter.
Since then the bailiff has hounded me at a place he thought I was working at, car was in locked gated car park of a care home. He’d obviously been looking for it as he’d said the other 4 PCN’s were in same street (near my place of work) He caused a nuisance, claiming to be a ‘senior manager for the council’ and he was there to collect a car which had been reported ‘stolen’. He was not permitted access, I call police. Complaint has been put in to TEC, copying in bailiff company, with resolution to agree PCN paid and to advise bailiff to stop harassing me.
I then received a hand written enforcement notice with the original PCN bailiff clamped me for, and I have paid, plus another 4 PCN's, totally £1127.42 I have gone through all my paperwork, and I have not received one single letter from the company regarding the other 4 PCN's.
Notice only provides one PCN number the rest states 5 bailiff company refs. Have matched them with the help of the parking dept of council.
Bailiff company’s online pay facility states I should pay £1342.86 for every single one of them!
I write to TEC copying in bailiff company requesting further information and for fines to be returned to council for administration.
I then receive another Notice of Attendance, listing previously paid PCN and ref number, and now gives the balance “before todays visit” is £1342.86 (jumped from £1127.42) and now gives a total of £1859.01
I have now requested a breakdown from bailiff company, using template/example provided in sticky
Letters were only sent this week.
Is there anything else I can do?
(Just to confuse things even more, I have discovered a non certificated bailiff from another company, who entered my home using a locksmith, for which I have submitted a formal complaint with the police, is now certificated with this current company – can’t help feeling there’s a personal vendetta occurring!)
