Don't agree, only ever agree to an amount in "Full and Final Settlement" where that is stated in the correspondence as then you can't be pursued by anyone.

I;d send them a CCA Request to see if the debt is even enforceable and try to strengthen your negotiating position.

I accepted a 70% discount and it all went through fine, I'm just digging out my letters xx

Okay my filing system is pants ( ie. there isn't one ) thinking on it I think the 70% was with 1st Credit/Intrum - but I have found a more recent Robinson Way / Hoist one I settled for 50%.

This was my letter initially...

and on my credit file the account was moved to closed, marked as partially settled and a £0 balance.

( this is my closed accounts bit on my credit file - http://legalbeagles.info/forums/file...tch?id=1422479 all the 'Satisfied' ones are partial settlements - I needed to clean up my file and get all the defaults marked as closed to apply for a mortgage next year )

So it might be useful to post up your letter you've received if it is different
