Re: EU: - IN or OUT ?? and WHY ??

I'm just going to leave this link here:
Official website of the European Union

I've voted IN in the poll and would stand by my vote if need be ... but I don't believe I can say much more than what is explained in the site I've linked xx

The EU is paid £55 million a day for the UK's membership. 365 x 55 mil = about 20 billion a year. Is it worth it? The UK economy (ie GDP, all business profit based on all goods sold etc) is worth about a trillion. GDP is not an accurate view of individual prosperity, it's just 1 trillion divided by the number of UK citizens (approx. 62 million). The entire country has to be run off this trillion though, including paying its debts national and international. A trillion is 1 billion x 1000 (ie 1000, 000 ,000, 000). UK membership of the EU is therefore about 0.02 trillion or 2% of the UK economy in real terms. It doesn't sound much but when you take into account how much it takes to run a country each year it is a lot. I'll put it another way, if there were 50 EU memberships it would amount to the UK's economy each year.

In the calendar year 2014, we did pay over £53 million a day to the EU. But that's a gross figure. A lot of it comes back. The net payment — once you strip out Britain's budget rebate and other transfers — amounted to £27 million a day last year.

I do not have an "issue" with the EU countries all singing from the same hymn sheet. In fact I think it is a very good idea.

I speak to colleagues all over the EU & most are no different to us in just wanting a "fair" system & an easier, better standard of living.

Re: EU: - IN or OUT ?? and WHY ??

We know tangibly we pay £55 million and in the recent past paid £40 million a day. What is intangible is the amounts were to said to have returned. In my view the EU and its beneficiaries are analogous to the International Monetary Fund bailing out countries, ie the beneficiaries/ recipients are the banking institutions and businesses. If you're in a business you're more like to benefit from the EU than if you were you not in business, ie just a another employee/ cog in the machine. I know all about EU law since I have studied it and its legal and political institutions, but is that worth £55 million a day? The EU law influenced not just consumer law in the UK but rather anti-discrimination law especially for women. But is it worth £55 million, common sense says if you omit persons from the labour economy it will be it its detriment, is this worth £55 million?

The ECJ courts take decisions against companies to keep the market going, ie competition law is supposed to stop monopolies, or an over-representation of goods, keep employees in their jobs when they have moved to EU member state countries, not to discriminate against them, as per EU Treaties, EU case law etc.

                        My common sense says: IN.

My appreciation of complete car crash political drama says: OUT. :o

I totally disagree, the almost daily interference from over paid EU " judges " in day to day "domestic " legal system is
wrong and cannot possibly be continued.

The EU courts are over turning our judges ruling on far too many matters that they have no business have their snotty noses in.
The UK can't even deport foreign terrorists, rapists, murderers, thieves and hate mongers without the idiots in the EU supporting
                          the criminals Uman Rites.

If you can't understand that it has Nothing to do with companies etc. here it is interference in our judicial system that is
unwanted and un warranted you have an odd view of the plain facts.

The Council would authorise that Member State to limit the access of newly arriving EU workers to non-contributory in-work benefits for a total period of up to four years from the commencement of employment. The limitation should be graduated, from an initial complete exclusion but gradually increasing access to such benefits to take account of the growing connection of the worker with the labour market of the host Member State. The authorisation would have a limited duration and apply to EU workers newly arriving during a period of 7 years.
