Re Notice of Assignment, it is the responsibility of either the seller of the debt, or the new buyer, to inform the third party (ie, in this case, you), not yours to have to seek this information.

Debt purchaser Lowell Group has acquired Interlaken Group in a deal which creates one of the largest debt recovery operations in the UK.
No financial details of the deal were disclosed but Lowell Group will acquire the group of collection agencies under the Interlaken umbrella – Fredrickson International and SRJ debt recoveries – alongside more than 300 staff.

Your right hun, but we have known them to issue them anyway regardless of the amount being below the threshold.

I would send them a 'prove it' letter if you haven't received a Notice of Assignment.

Leave the CCA request for later.

What the hell is the point of The Leeds Losers who have chased me through all their aliases now telling me they have appointed Frederickscum to pursue me now when they are in fact the same wunch of bankers.

I reckon we're going to see a lot more of this, with all the mergers & acquisitions going on.

There appears to be a move towards a debt collection 'superleague', with the big players in the industry investing in 'cutting edge' automated tracing systems (cheaper in the long-term than manual methods).

Lol! - all the more to go wrong, then.

Well looks like Fredrickson have contacted Bryan Carter Solicitors.....and I have been advised by BC to contact Fredrickson with a payment proposal...or they will issue proceedings.

But when I did contact Fredrickson sending a cca request....they told me to contact Lowell......been very busy so admittedly did not....and today received this letter.

Not sure which Tom, Dick or Harry to contact now?

                          Any clues from anyone please?

Bryan Carter is a solictor to rent and would be Freds pet solicitor. You made a legal request to Freds for a CCA. They havent complied so you should write to Bryan and advise him that his so called clients are in breach of your CCA. Bryan is quick to issue proceedings but even quicker to drop them when challenged

Thanks ODC i will write to BC and send a copy of my cca request sent to lowells.....I sent my cca request to fredrickson as they were the last DCA that sent me a letter....they advised me that I should contact lowells....which I did...no reply yet.

Also another thing....fredrickson say that I acknowledged the debt in May 2012 because I made a payment of 11.59..... I am almost 100 per cent sure I did not and need to find out how they claim I did this and ask for proof. I will be writing to fredrickson asking for this proof.

Oh it is such a palapa when anyone receives a summons and claim form.....I just want to nip this in the bud before it gets to that stage. Thanks for your input.....I will be sending a few letters today...to all these Tom, dicks and Harry's.

Re: Freind's HSBC debt sold to Marlin

I have received a response from one of my letters I wrote. It is from Fredricksons.....this is what I sent them:

                                Dear Sirs,

Further to your letter dated 4 July 2013 and as you advised I have sent your client Lowell Financial Ltd a request for further information.

Also you have stated in your letter that I admitted liability for this account when I made my last payment of £11.59 which you received on 2 April 2012.

I have not made any payment to this account and ask that you provide proof as to where this payment of £11.59 came from, which account, and by whom this payment was made by. I have not received a response from your client to date.

As soon as I receive a response I will contact you.

                                This is what they replied:

                                Dear..........

We thank you for your communication regarding this account.

We have referred the matter to our client and will revert to you as soon as we are in receipt of instructions.

In the meantime, we confirm that we have placed the account on hold.

                                Yours sincerely.

I also wrote to Lowell & BC....and waiting to see what they reply and will post up. I need to know how they claim I made a payment of £11.59....lets see what they come back with...but for now the brakes are on.

Maybe I should drop Bryan Carter a few lines or send a photocopy of Fredricksons letter to them....because BC advised that I should contact Fredrickson within 14 days...which I did....
