Thank you for that they sound great, my only concern is what if there just trying it on and I don't hear from them again and I write them this letter and they decide to fight me? What shall I do?

Hi. I think I'm going to wait and see the next letter. Do you think this is a good move?

It is entirely up to you, you know what the original letter said, if it was just a "HELLO" letter without too much imminent threat of court action I should think you're fine to just wait, but I don't want you waiting on tentpegs for the next missive to come through the letter box pulling your hair out...

Maybe while you wait you could get a SAR off to Barclays Partner Finance ( please ) Subject Access Request Letter

            http://legalbeagles.info/library/gui...ccess-request/

Get one of those sent off to Barclays partner finance - should get you a couple steps ahead of Cabot - you Could send one to Advent's administrators on the off chance too ( the letter of cancellation might be useful if they retain it ) just ask for everything held held relating to you as an individual - you don't need to be specific.

Hi I've received another letter from Cabot today, scared to open it, what if they no longer have my letter as it was 11/12 years ago
