Have you obtained proof of posting for both letters?
No but I have the receipt for the postal order. I posted both the same day.
I have received a letter from the court today to say that they have sent my intention to defend to Arrow and they have 28 days to respond.

That is the point. I really do not know. I think I had a Debs card a long time before 2007.

Are you certain that's what the court letter said?

Once you file your AOS the next expected move is for you (Defendant) to file your Defence which is sent to the Claimant giving them 28 days to respond.

You've not filed a Defence yet have you?

(The court would also send any letters/Orders to the Claimant's solicitors Restons and not to Arrow.)

When you acknowledged the court claim, did you just tick the 'intend to defend' box, or did you state a defence? (ie add reasons for the defence)?

            Ah!

Any chance of posting up the exact wording?

I cant get access to the MCOL. I kept it short and said that I do not recall this debt etc. At this point only Santander had been mentioned on the POC not Debehams. The number of the help desk is not in service apparently and cannot remember the password.

It would appear that the answer is yes, & close to a bare denial defence.

In order to overcome this obstacle the forum really needs to know the precise words you entered into the "Defence" section on the MCOL website.

What exactly did you say in the "etc" bit?

I cant remember tbh. I cant get onto the website and the helpsdesk is closed now until Monday. I will ring them then. I feel like such a plum now. I think I may have made a bad situation worse. I thought that it best not to admit to anything until I knew for sure what this was about.

No worries; you may be able to tweak the defence.
It would be an advantage to know what exactly your existing written defence is.

Will ring Monday to gain access and will copy and paste it up. I should have been more careful. I just thought I was just not admitting guilt; not submitting a defence. (ned to calm down and not do things in panic mode!)

I know from a friend's old Harrods card that Santander claim that the start date of their agreement is when they took over ( eg 2007 in your case ) when the original card was taken out much earlier.

                            Hi.
I havenow gained access to the claim... I hadn't realised it was a "defence" this is what I wrote in the box:
"I am unaware of this claim against me and seek further
clarification to the particulars of this and proof that this is
indeed justified. As far as I am aware I do not owe the claimant
                            money."

I just read this and thought that it may have come across rude as used "" around Defence. Not my intention sorry, I just used them as I just thought I was just giving a reason to not accept culpability. I should red things with more care.
