I did write them, i sent them a letter and they asked me to send my bank statement and a monetary deposit of how much I wanted to lower the montly payments to, so I did exactly what they asked but they are trying to make me continue paying the 130. Is there any legal way That I can cancel this debt?

well I started the course early march of this year, I haven't gotten really far to be honest, I think I only completed 3 pieces of work over this time due to me enrolling myself in school again and never finding enough time to get work done and then I started having financial problems so I decided that I would cancel the course but when I called and told them my situation they said that the time for me to cancel had already expired so I could not cancel anymore and no matter how much I explained they didn't seem to care so I started thinking about changing my bank information but i'm afraid that I would get prosecuted by law enforcement of somehow get screwed over.

It might be better to write to them instead :tinysmile_twink_t2:

Who are you getting your course finance through?? You would need to write to them before you cancelled any payments

Note: I also tried to at-least lower the amount I had to pay weekly if I can't cancel and sent them a letter with my bank statement and everything else they asked of me but they are trying everything they can to keep the rate at £130

Bro, have you gotten this fixed? I am having the same problem and they just won't let me quit, and to make matters worst I am unemployed and In education so I cannot afford to pay the 130 monthly. I'm afraid if I block their direct debit they would get me into deep trouble and wreck my credit score.

Keep a copy of what you fill in on the cancellation form (photo/scan it before you send)

Also if you receive anything from the finance company double check if you need to inform them you have cancelled as well.

As you've already informed them of your wish to cancel, they should be willing to arrange it asap :tinysmile_grin_t:
You never know ... when they receive the paperwork from the guy who came to your house, it might just be cancelled there and then

Yes, 14 days from when signed. I gave them a call this morning and told them I wanted to cancel, but because it was done yesterday the guy said they were yet to receive the papers from the guy who came to my house. I then called the guy who came to my house to inform him I was no longer interested and if he could get rid of it as I already knew they had not received any paperwork. He told he he had sent them off, and that I would have to send back a cancellation slid at the bottom of one of the papers I signed.

Hi [MENTION=52599]JJay[/MENTION] ... Do you have a copy of your agreement?? Cancellation would probably be best done in writing, sending a letter recorded/signed for (costs less than £2) or via email. I will find out the addresses etc... for you in the morning (if I can get them)
