Re: Trades Gateway cancellation Help Please
So even though I am way past the cancellation period all I need to do is fill this in and await action? I'm not halting payments until I know its cancelled.

Hi Gorillasafc, welcome to LB!Originally posted by gorillasafc View PostI have been enrolled on one of the Trades Gateway courses since April, first payment was taken on 1/5.
At the time of taking this out I was fine, but now I'm in no fit state mentally to continue with this course, as I'm suffering from depression and anxiety caused by my financial situation after a relationship breakdown where my ex partner has pushed me into severe debt.
The course is also not what I expected and my travel costs to get to the training centre are too expensive for me to consider going now. I want to cancel the course and stop them taking the £135 each month as its money I need to live off as I'm unemployed due to my mental health and only getting ESA.
I haven't received any notifications of cancellation periods other than those on the paperwork I signed when the rep came to my house, I also feel that the rep took advantage of my mental health situation back then even though I wasn't as bad as I am now.
I'm not wanting anything that I have paid back but I just want out. I have emailed them today explaining this, what else can I do?
There's a slip on the paperwork that you need to return in order to cancel your course ... You will also have to contact the finance company you signed with in order to cancel payments (they should get a refund from TG of the 'unused' finance after your course is cancelled meaning you will not have to pay any extra after cancellation is confirmed) but you shouldn't just stop paying in he meantime

Re: Trades Gateway cancellation Help Please
Mike,
I sent my slip off last week and to date still no reply from them, I have also rang the career finance 4 Trades and they said I have to pay back the Loan, if you cancel the Direct Debit they will send Debit collectors to your home, I am waiting out at the moment to see what happens with the return of the slip until Friday 14th Nov 2014 and then I'll rind them up and see what they say then. But from what iv gathered is the Trades Gateway have to cancel the course and pay back the remaining Loan and only then can you cancel the Direct Debit.
The slip was sent recorded Dilivery and is tracked and has been dilivered.
ill publish on hear as soon as have heard back from them or spoken to them myself.

Re: Trades Gateway cancellation Help Please
i am also having the same problem, due to financial circumstances i can no longer afford the monthly repayments for this course.
i was also told about the wage structure and feel that i was 'sold' this course and wish i did a bit more research before signing up but it was all done so quickly.
I signed up to this course on the 11/07/2014 and am about to make my fourth payment on the 15th. both my and the guy that came out to see me signatures are on the pink agreement form (although my name is spelt wrong). i will be sending the cancellation slip off to trades gateway tomorrow via recorded delivery and calling career finance 4 trade skills ltd. tomorrow to inform them of cancelation and then cancel my direct debit. my credit is pretty poor as it is so im not too worried about that.
what i dont understand is how they would possibly be willing to give me £5720 finance with such a poor credit rating that i cant even get a £100 payday loan, surely the should have checked this before signing me up and i guess no such credit check was performed at the time of signing the agreement. aswell as this as i didnt receive the monies myself surely any unspent monies would go back to the finance comany.
any help would be greatful as it is a stressful situation at the moment.
many thanks.

Re: Trades Gateway cancellation Help Please
If your course with Trades Gateway is cancelled, then they should refund the finance company any 'unused' portion of the fees ... I'd say it's a waiting game at the minute until you get a response from TG themselves

Hi Nicky :tinysmile_grin_t:Originally posted by Nicky0400 View PostHi All,
I am also in need of advice with this, i signed up for this on the 11 April 2014, i have completed the first book and all online tests, they then sent me another book and i have completed 1 test on this.
I have not gone back to the course books for 3 months as I'm not having time to do so because of my new Job. I have not sent the Cancellations form off yet neither have i wrote to them about cancelling, i feel that I'm paying for something that i no longer need and this money could be used for other things.
They have text me and said "We noticed you haven't submitted a TMA for some time. Remember you have a tutor team to guid you; please contact them if you need help" this message was on the 1st &15th Sep 2014 and 1st Oct 2014.
After reading everyones posts, i don't want to do this course anymore and i feel its all a :tape2:!! please advise me on my next move.
PS: i can't fined the online cancellation form
Did you send your letter recorded/signed for? We recommend always doing this (costs less than £2) as it gives you proof of postage and delivery :tinysmile_twink_t2:
Which course were you doing?
Have you still got the paperwork from when you signed up?

Re: Trades Gateway cancellation Help Please
Hi I'm in need of help, signed up to trades gateway in June, made 3 payments. Because of money problems with being between jobs right now I can't afford to make any other payments. Roughly a month and a half after I started the course. Came to the realisation that I made a huge mistake. After reading so many of these forums and when I look back and think of the induction Process it was more like a sales pitch more than anything.
This is what happened, I received a phone call saying they would like to interview Me for the course and they would send someone out to my home that day to interview me. Sounded perfect to me, so he came and gave me the pitch, "this countries under 25000 welders, starting wage is between 50-60 thousand pounds a year, these qualifications are vital in the industry today if you don't have them you Won't get a job. There is no employer out there that will give you an apprenticeship at your age (22) at all." failed to mention where exactly the place I'd be doing the practical was, when I asked all he said was they are building one in your area. Great, everything I needed to hear what a gullible guy... Also failed to mention I had to pay a £50 fee to start until after he phoned the finance agency. I'm An absolute mug...
So I cancelled the direct debit with the bank and didn't pay this month's payment and also I have moved house without their knowledge and I'm not answering their calls. The reason I'm not answering is because I know I won't receive mercy from them. I need some much needed guidance, I'm losing sleep, I'm at my wits end with this. This stupid thing could ruin everything.Last edited by Kati; 29th November 2014, 10:27:AM.
