      Re: No Claims Discount

I have just received the following in an email from my new motor insurers 'Thank you for sending us proof of your no claims bonus. unfortunately we are unable to validate this. The reason for this is the underwriter insuring your car would need to know where the car has been insured as you have advised them that you have owned the car since 2005.' I only took out the insurance on the day of purchase only 3 weeks ago. First of all if I had noticed a box saying when did I purchase the vehicle I would not have entered the year 2005. Secondly, since when has a NCD followed a car around and not the driver/s? Time for some investigating I thought, so I have just 'googled' the said Insurer followed by the word 'scam' and its turned up trumps, along with another two of the directors associated businesses. ........... Just phone them and tell them you purchased the car 3 weeks ago. The NCD follows the driver not the car, but cannot be used on two cars.

Do you have NCD on a previous vehicle? is this vehicle still in use? do you have any NCD? and if so how many years?

Who was the Motor Insurer and did you give them any money?

          Re: No Claims Discount

I have never had an accident or made an insurance claim in my life and so far have managed to collect 9 years no claims. The NCD that I sent to the insurance comp was from my previous car, that said car failed its final MOT and is heading for the big scrap yard in the sky, well the one on the nearest industrial estate really. Being my work vehicle I pay for the insurance by instalments, so far the deposit has been paid but the 1st monthly payment is due soon. Like I said in my previous post the email they sent didn't quite add up, as I have never had an insurance company want to know the history of a vehicles insurance. Looking around on the web I have seen a few posts where people have gone with this company (as they where one of the cheapest) only to have problems later on with 'additional' admin charges and even invalidating the insurance. I'm a bit concerned as the words Scam & Scammers keep popping up.
Before I get back in touch with then I want to find out as much information as possible of how the system works.

which company is this I used to be in motor insurance and never had NCD quearies on changes of car NCD as we said is on the person not the car , in an accident the car does not have the accident it is you/third party does sound fishy, your former company should hold your no claims and pass it over to you if you cancelled /not rtenewed policy

              Re: No Claims Discount

personally I would cancel this policy and take a new one up with a somewhat more reputable company, I have always produced the NCD from previous insurer and there has never been an issue

                Re: No Claims Discount

My main worry with this would not be the fact that this has happened, but if they are this poor now, how good would they be in the case of an accident and you genuinely needing their help?

That in itself would make me think very carefully whether or not I wished to remain with the company.

He should be well up with car insurance

I have found this so far

                    http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews182804.html and this
                    www.moneysupermarket.com/c/car-insurance/green-insurance/reviews/44/0/

I have read somewhere today someone was actually charged £300 cancellation fee by these people. I was intending to call these people regarding NCD proof, but now I'll keep it all in writing.

this company seems to be part of kwikfit ageas mr M is insured with the kwit fit and when we changed our car the premium shot up horribly and they wouldnt let us cancel unless we paid oodles to cancel so we are stuck with them until august

                          Data doesn't seem to add up on director check, unless there is more than one Ms June Lynch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It looks like they share the same directors. Quite a few directors at first glance. May be hard to find an insurer who isn't connected to this company. :jaw:

                              Re: No Claims Discount

What date did you have an accident?
Did you advise them about the accident when you took out the insurance?
Was the accident your fault or the third party?
Was your previous NCD protected and what date is your bonus upto?
To amass a 9 years continuos NCD you would have had a non fault accident, this all needs to be explained to the insurers. Everything today regarding motor insurance is on a national data base which all insurers are privvy to search.
Best not to say at this point that they are scammers as perhaps you have both got your wires crossed with you not understanding the system, it is just a thought.
