Re: *** IVANIDEA v BPS... hearing 30th April GOOD LUCK !!!!

You must keep stating that you thought you were just booking an appointment directly with the passport office and didn't know you were using the BPS website until you starting getting emails asking for payment. You feel you were misled into completing the form on the BPS site and hoodwinked into signing a contract with them which was never your intention and you did not require any services other than an appointment booking which you thought you were doing direct with the passport office.

It appears the main discussion at Ivan's hearing was whether the service had been provided... there's a brief summary on the other thread I'll copy over to here.

The issue in my case was that they made me an appointment at Peterborough passport office on the morning of the day of my flight which wasn't "practicable" as the judge described it. He said that basically they couldn't hide behind terms and conditions to expect me to accept a useless appointment and he ruled that therefore they hadn't provided me with service that they'd claimed to have done. He said that in my case it wasn't important if they were a copycat or official company they simply hadn't provided the required service. No one from BPS came in person and they relied solely on their witness statement. I was awarded £109 costs, payable within 14 days....
