Please read here about cooling off period.

    http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg...mId=1073792577

    Distance selling and online trading

    The cooling-off period and cancellations

When selling to consumers by mail order, phone, fax, internet or digital TV you must give them a cooling-off period during which they have an unconditional right to cancel the contract.
In the case of services, the cooling-off period normally ends seven working days after the day the order was made - or after written confirmation is received.
In the case of goods, the cooling-off period normally ends seven working days after the day the goods are received.
Consumers must inform you in writing - by letter, fax or email - of their decision to cancel.
Consumers' money should be reimbursed as soon as possible - and in any case within a maximum period of 30 days.
Your contract with the consumer should also specify who pays any postage necessary to return unwanted goods.
However, there are some exceptions to the right to cancel. Consumers can't cancel if the contract is for:

You have every right at this stage to have your money returned to you if that is your wish.

                    Re: claims companys

Many thanks Joelyn for posting up your experience which I am sure will help others in the same situation.

The more I hear about the way some of these companies act it and how they flaunt their authorisations with the MOJ makes me so wild. Please read this bulletin from the Ministry of Justice http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...11-bulletin-13

My advice is to anyone DO NOT pay for a service like this from a cold call. These companies are NOT privvy to your personal situations with your banks, credit cards, PPI etc....they cannot tell you you have a sum of money to come back as they DO NOT know and they quite often tell you you have £1,000's to come back when it is NOT true.

Recent updates from the Ministry of Justice which I have posted up shows that many bogus claims for PPI is being put in by these companies when people have never even had PPI and this has caused a further backlog with companies trying to deal with genuine PPI refunds. http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...12-bulletin-15

Please don't be fooled with their high pitch sales talk, the people that call you are normally from call centres in the main and they do not have a clue about any of this, they just have their sales pitch to get over and they do not at best even know who authorises them or what exactly they are claiming back for you.
