Strange has H.S.B.C. been ripping customers off again with £25 overdraft facility charges the last few years, just had letter saying there is no fee this year for my facility, only if I go overlimit of agreed overdraft, the charge would be in facility sheet at the time??????? although I may find out soon as I am over the limit due to their illigal charges which take up most of the overdraft charges @ 8% but if as I now know they are charging 18% upwards, might be an idea to reclaim the actual charges, should get rid of overdraft and shut the account down ANY IDEAS ON THIS ONE????????? i.e. submit new claim replacing the statuary charges claim ????:beagle:

Sorry not quite sure what your question is ? Are you saying you have an OD - but existing charges are equal to or greater than that balance? Have you done an initial letter reclaiming those charges?

Reclaim on hold interest done @ 8% so would be short of balance but @ contracrual rate should clear overdraft, As regards the £25 part it was a yearly charge for the overdraft facility, but this year they say no charge would be levied for the facility (OVERDRAFT), only additional charges if over the limit which in my case would be because of the illigal charges added to overdraft which takes me just over my facility,:beagle:

You asking if you should try for contractual interest on top of the charges claim ?

Yes you should add those £25 fees into your claim, will be up to the bank to argue them.

Had my letter of rejection from H.S.B.C. yesterday, bla bla bla, look for a straightforward letter in respose, so I will wait as suggested for advice, they do say I can go to the OMB if I wish, also sate my objections to their comment.:fireside:
