I think you've dialled the wrong number - my mistake, need new glasses - it's not 0845 600 0299 but 0845 600 6299. I just tried it and definately got through to ' Lloyds TSB Credit Opperations Customer Service Recovery Helpline.

Is your son's money still going into this account? If so, it might be an idea to get it diverted to another account then at least your son and his partner would have access to it and it wouldn't all get swallowed up in charges as sooon as it hits the bank.

        Re: Laura V Llloyds

Son said bank want to see regular money going in account that`s why hese left money there, just back from tests but this is what I have wrote any comments please

        Dear Sir

My son *** account *** has built up £2,780 charges with Lloyds Tsb since I last took Lloyds Tsb to court and got previous charges refunded £698.10 on the 9th May 2007 with a further refund of wasted costs £130 on the 12th September 2007

Lloyds Tsb are charging my son up to £300 a month for "unplanned overdraft fees" and returned "D/D fees" In May 2008 alone he received in charges £196 unplanned overdraft fee, £40 returned direct debit fee, £11.27 overdraft interest and £7.95 account charge for the type of account that he has totalling £255.22, he is on benefits which only his DLA of £250.40 goes into the bank per month and the bank takes this

Lloyds Tsb have not applied any thought to hardship or to the blocking of any charges, and contionously leave him and his partner and 3 children who are all dependent on Income Support, penniless, things have got that bad that I have had to apply for a Social Services clothing grant for the Children`s school uniforms, as my son and his partner are not in a position to even afford a pair of socks

The original overdraft on the account was for £700 the bank have recently increased this to £1,360 to take their charges which had built up, the overdraft currently stands at £139.62 over the agreed limit of £1,360

Both my son and his partner are registered disabled and have severe learning difficulties along with mental health problems, Lloyds Tsb are adding to these problems as they have now informed my son that on the 1st September that they are applying over £400 bank charges to his account, where on earth do you expect my son to obtain such funds? my son`s partner as applied for a social fund loan in the hope of raising this sum of money

I am personally appalled at the way my sons severe financial difficulties are being igmored and in fact are escalating due to the banks actions, I understand and you will fully understand from The Banking Code Standard Board that it is the banks obligation under the FSA waiver to "Filter" out hardship cases, and to deal with them sympathetically and to process claims for overdraft charge refunds. It is expected that banks would freeze charges and interest on the account of the person experiencing "Severe Financial Hardship" so I am at a loss why Lloyds have not already implemented this action and are pursuing further charges of over £400 on the 1st September

Because of the "Excessive" charges on this account it has caused my son`s financial and physical position to worsen, he has numerous household bills that have gone unpaid; it has put my son`s health under a severe and unacceptable strain, of which he is supposed to avoid stressful situations, due to my sons fragile state of mind I am concerned that he could well end up returning to hospital as he did when he had the same problems last year with the bank, where he stayed for over a month in hospital and was unable to deal with the bank during that period at which the banks response was to escalate further charges causing further difficulties

My son receives numerous support for his learning difficulties and mental health problems and not being able to read creates major obstacles for him, through all these problems his partner who is his carer is trying to take care of 3 children and deal with similar problems of her own she is now being treated for depression with all this pressure they are under

I would hope that you would give this matter your most urgent and immediate attention as my son as become increasingly aggitated and upset as to how he is going to raise such large charges by the 1st September

If you are unwilling to consider my request then you are under obligation to give my son a written response indicating that you do not consider my son`s case to be one of finacial hardship and the reasons why. I would then have to consider my next course of action on his behalf in consultation with the FOS/FSA

I will enclose a sheet with this letter with the charges from February 2007 up until now any comments appreciated sending letter today recorded deliver just going to contact 0845 600 6299 to get a name and address

          Re: Laura V Llloyds

I can understand you're upset and it is an appaling situation the bank has out your son in.

But I think you need to write requesting the charges refunded first, then persue the hardship claim, once your complaint is in the system

If you send this straight to the dept who deal with these cases, you are more likely to get a letter back stating they are unaware of any claim from yoursleves, which would be true, and youd be back at square one, prob a few weeks down the line though.
And as I believe they are dealing with the claims in the order they have come in, you would then end up further down the line.

Thats just my opinion though, maybe someone who has spoken to the Hardship dept will be better able to advise.

                Re: Laura V Llloyds

I did it myself with advice off a site but I couldn`t do it again I found it daunting, time consuming and stressful. I am quite happy to go to a firm if they acted quickly as I am not well enough to deal with this my daughter as just rung me from work and ear bashed me for attempting to help my son she is worried about my health so perhaps I`d be better getting someone else to sort it will still send letter it cant harm anything and as it was suggested on here, no one here as said you can ask for charges back from what i`m aware?

Address for sending things to John Bundy is Lloyds Tsb Credit Operations, Customer Service Recovery, Queen`s Road Quadrent, 1-5 Queens Road Quadrent, Brighton, BN1 3XJ

Isn`t the letter with hardship also a request for a refund on charges? reading my letter I`d say so or does it have to be done in a official way like you set out for court? as I don`t know how to do this Excel thing

The banks have their systems in place and they will more than gladly mess you about.
If you send a preliminary request for charges, you will get a letter saying that it has been logged in their system.
Once you get that then go to the hardship letter.

To be honest I would send both letters, hardship letter to Bundy & prelim request for charges to customer services.
Then you have covered both bases at the same time.

The charges can be laid out anyway as long as they are itemised,
                    ie 15/03/08 unpaid DD £30
                    16/04/09 paid referal £25
                    and so on

You can use a word processor or hand write the list.

You can also copy your statements BUT KEEP THE ORIGINALS - NEVER SEND THESE

The only reason for excel is that it will do the calculations for you, making it easier.

So dont let the excel put you off.

Make sure you take a few copies of everything though before you send it off.

That will be fine, just highlight all the charges on it, and make sure you print off a few copies, as its been know for statements to suddenly become 'unavaillable' online in some cases

I can't see why he would be so keen to keep banking with them after they have treated him so badly. They are just another bunch of bully boys, tell him to take his business elsewhere, he may also get an incentive to move to another bank, I know the halifax whilst being just as bad, they do give a £25 introduction to a newcomer and to whoever introduces them. The Alliance and Leicester also do the same offer.

                              Best wishes,
