Capquest County Court Claim. Historical debt

I have received a county court claim from capquest in relation to a debt in 2007 with shop direct. It was "assigned" to the claimant in 2012. Any advise on next steps please. Thanks so much.

Good morning, welcome to LB.

You say " in relation to a debt in 2007" is this the date the account was opened?
Have you acknowledged service of the claim and stated that you intend to defend the claim in full? If not do so online at Money Claim Online (MCOL)

Do not make any statement in defence at this stage.

Things to do:

1. A request made under the provisions of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 for a copy of the Shop Direct Agreement. (CCA request).

There is a template for this at the top of the " court claim forum" in the green box.
You have to pay a statutory fee of £1.00 for this use a Postal Order marked "for statutory fee only" make it payable to Capquest .
Send by signed for post to Capquests address as on the claim form.

Is a solicitors acting for Capquest?

Please post a copy of the N1 claim form here after removing your name/address and the claim number.

Hello Kay,

You should also send Restons a request under the provisions of Civil Procedure Rule 31.14 ( CPR) no fee for this.
You request specifically the documents mentioned in the Particulars of Claim as on the N1 form.
Use signed for post.

OK for CPR 31.14 request you ask for the " contract" and the Notice of Assignment.

I have made no communication with Capquest- I will check my credit to see if the debt is listed. I cannot recall a default but have moved address. The debt is 9 years old.

Over 6 years ago- there is a debt registered with Capquest- account closed, last updated 2015.
