Joking apart the loan bit is the easy way out for both of you. I did it and was about to do it again but for these lovely people on here advising me not to. It is not the answer, I can see that now. You will get there, I just hope unlike mine he learns a lesson from all this Enaid x

Re: Son cant keep up with his debt, WORRIED SICK

        Hi all,
Ive written to his creditors today requesting the original CCA, ive posted them all by recorded delivery and included the payment. It is £1 to each?,
Ive also called Creation Finance for him, and they would not speak to me about his account due to the data protection act, (even though they spoke to me after calling my mobile) so will just wait until I recieve this information, im going to arrange for him to see someone from either a debt management firm of the CAB, although Im not sure which is the best way to go, I know some charge for their service and ive read bad things about the way they handle accounts but im sure I read some where that some organisation does not charge so will look into that.

Ive still not heard from him, ive been tempted all day to call him but didn't, and I know he will wait until at least the weekend before he calls me, he needs me then to collect my twin grandaughters for him as its his weekend to have them,

Its no wonder he hasn't called me, ive re-read the message I sent to him, and it wasn't very nice, in fact I swore and I only ever swear when I really have to, 3 times in the mesge.

Im just so upset about how he could be so stupid, and Im not used to going for days without speaking to him as we are really close, yet he hid this well, but at 28 he's his own man, Il help with the letters etc, but im not giving him money.

I wont let him starve, and I know if he has no gas, I'l charge his card, but the lines drawn at that point, I want to shout and rant and clip him round the luggs, ha ha, but he has to call me 1st, and he hasn't repaid me yet,

Whats happened to my son, I just hope he isn't on drugs, that would finish me off, im just totally lost...B

          Yes £1 to each.

Go to CAB, CCCS - or Payplan even - don't get involved with a debt management firm - however tempting their promises to sort it all out for you. I use CCCS and have found them brilliant and they are free.

Do you have a full list of all his debts ? If so and you can post them up on here there might be bits and bobs you can do. CCA requests is a good start though.

I agree with you not to get a loan and pay them off. Yes he'll stuggle with a bad credit rating, but at least it stops him getting in any deeper.

And if he's gambling online still - he needs to stop. Maybe get him on here ? We're quite addictive and don't cost a sausage lol.

I got into a lot of debt, just cause things ran away with me, my OH was acting like all was fine and I prefered to beleive him than my own sense. Thus I sunk, ended up very depressed and shut down from everything and everyone. I was too low to ask for help, and pretended everything with fine........to everyone, even to the folks on CAG which I was using at the time to reclaim charges.....bizarrely ---- so at least he has asked ...in his roundabout way... he probably has no idea how to deal with it all and feels embarrased and scared. My mum thought I was on drugs lol and accused me of being an alcoholic and not looking after my kids - that hurt a lot - but it did kick me up the bum bigtime. Be hard on him cause he needs shaking out of it, but also let him know you care and want him to come to you if ever anything like this crops up again.

Re helping with letters - you will have to literally write them shove them under his nose to sign, and post them yourself. Sounds like he's not wanting to handle anything at all at the moment.
