nattie, do you know thw name of the data protection officer for natwest now? also is telford branch still working as i am struggling getting any response to my letters sent there? the only reply i have received is one from customer care in birmingham?

I have no idea who the data protection officer's name is with RBS Group. I live in Cambridge and do not work for the bank anymore so I can only go by what I am aware of and I am not aware that the area that deals with debt has moved from Telford. The branch should be open so if you address it "private and confidential" and put the manager's name then it should not be sent to Birmingham to receive an answer. I would add that it is very very lazy if the branch are getting customer care to write to you. Helpful Banking,eh ?!!

thanks nattie, i am appalled at the service i am recieving since it has become rbs..i cannot get any response to any letters or sar requests..it is horrendous!!
credit management services in telford gets no response and as i say if anything comes it comes from customer services in birmingham..
pre rbs if you had a sar issue or data issue you contacted joyce tudor and things were done eventually, but with this lot i am seriousley struggling on a sar and a wrongful default issue
which is holding up a much needed remortgage..absolute pain these lot!!!

i should mention nattie that i am no longer with the natwest this account was from 2007, which makes it more difficult to get answers

The SAR address in Edinburgh is the one.....when did you originally hold the account from since the natwest archive if it is still accessable in branch will have the details as there is a search facility on that archive which will have records from 1992-2002 for sure. The only details in the branch that they might have would be under a search under the original branch code which would have the account closed and balance at closure(probably bad debt written off)..... If you have had so much trouble then email the CEO of RBS Group stephen.hester@rbs.co.uk and state the number of times you have written and if you enclosed the £10.00 for the SAR when it was cashed. You should get somewhere with that....

hi, thanks again for that info.....i have sent the cheques and all requests via recorded, and they have been received on both occasions, but the cheque has not been cashed as i have checked this.
i sent an email to joyce tudor a while ago, this has received no response either. the address used for the sar request was the edinburgh one..
i have also sent letters to the same address and data officer re the adverse data applied to the cras, this has had no response either , again two lots of letters 4 weeks apart . all shown as received according to the royal mail tracking site???
this bank has gone to the dogs since it has incorporated with rbs, i sure am glad i am not with these clowns anymore..thankyou again will try the stephen hester route now,,

If you look at some of my threads you may find i have trodden these boards before.....

For my part, Telford CMS do not converse anymore. Not too sure why, but hazard a guess they got themselves into to much of a mess. All my stuff is now addressed from;

I would also add that from my experience, the most effective way of transmitting letters and data is to go into a branch of natwest, approach the manager and demand they send it to the relevant department via their faxination numbers that they hold on their data-base. make sure they date-stamp it and sign it, and as it is banking buisiness they have no right to refuse you for not being a customer. Then put it in the post and send it recorded, track it, keep the info on file and do not take any crap from them.

thanks for this info both of you, i have been trying to get some basic contact info for ages and i am about pulling my hair out...i just keep firing recorded delivery letters out
in desperation one after the other but i am hitting a brick wall..
my problems arfe time constraints as i have only just discovered this default, and i have written to one of the cras to try and them to get some info, but they havent replied to them either so they have left it supressed.. they are a joke and when i have my mortgage rearranged i will drag these clowns into court for the trouble they have put me to..thanks to you both again and any more info would be welcome as the contact detail;s everywhere are so out of date xx

Don't worry about it - just go into a branch of natwest and send it through their system.....and keep sending....and keep writing to stephen hester and complaining. I DO!
