  • Trying a fast one?

    Hi everyone
Out of the blue receive a letter from Intrum yesterday.
Account purchased from HFC on 04/04/2008! Yes thats right. Chasing me for a credit my exwife took out in my name, dumped on my lap when i left her, she used the card but yes in my name, and expected me to pay it off, which i declined to do so. 3k the debt.
    bottom of letter ....
YOU SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THE PERIOD OF RECOVERING YOUR DEBT BY COURT ACTION HAS EXPIRED SO WE WILL NOT BE ISSUING COURT PROCEEDINGS TO ENFORCE PAYMENT . HOWEVER YOUR DEBT STILL EXISTS AND LEGALLY WE ARE WITHIN OUR RIGHTS TO CONTINUE TO ASK YOU FOR PAYMENT.
Question. Do i use the letter to fire up the barbeque and ignore?

Is the debt bring chased the correct amount or has it had collection charges added to it ?

You can tell them to go away, unless you think they might have other debts of yours ( or your ex's) which could pop up once they know they have the right contact details.

Example SB letter to adapt here... https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...ed-debt-letter

Any support I provide is offered without liability, if you are unsure please seek professional legal guidance.

I believe it would of been 2004-2005. I left her in 2006 so def before that.
it was definately Marbles. They sent me a letter late 2006, well, it was sent to the ex home , she gave them my new address and hey presto landed on my door
