      hi

seems quite hard to qualify for legal aid? gross income of only £2,500 pa seems impossibly low.

That's the whole idea borgbaiter. Also you must not have any equity in your home otherwise you'll be rejected

Is that right righty? I've not tried the calculator but Tom's post said ''When calculating your capital, you should include any equity which is over £100,000 in your property (though you can deduct up to £100,000 for any mortgage on that property)

To be eligible for CLS-funded help for Legal Help, Help at Court, Family Mediation, Family Help (Lower), Family Help (Higher) or Asylum cases: Legal Representation before the Immigration and Asylum Tribunal; and the High Court and Other Legal Representation, you should not have more than £8000 in capital.

Don't they consider equity as capital against which you can draw

How are you doing re 2 claims per bank which banks do you need more claims for (if Any) ?
The charges coming in to the banking industry every day will more than pay the banks total legal bill for the whole test case so why wouldn’t the Banks want to "ensure Justice at the highest level"

I know I just wanted confirmation from a trusted member for the benefit of others.

However if your credit rating is screwed then you can argue that the LSC will be able to take a charge over your property rather than expect the litigant, in these dire times, to try & raise funds against it.

Also the banks are hardly going to lend to the 'enemy' who will then use it to bring them to account in the courts............ I mean would you:tinysmile_cry_t:

I'm mailing the old RUC claimants about this now too. I'm sure there must be quite a few with claims held up so hopefully we'll be able to add a few more to the list.

Bank charges waiver direction - monthly reporting Thank you to everyone for your input so far.

If you have registered your interest, I will have sent you a PM for further information about your claim.

We are still at an early stage with these proposed GLOs, although I am expecting to make some real progress in the near future. In principle, I am looking for claimants who are eligible for Legal Aid so that we can get proper funding for the proposed GLOs. We need this funding so that we can get a dedicated legal team in place, including solicitors and barristers. As you may appreciate, these proposed GLOs would be a substantial undertaking that could not be pursued by a lone individual, even an experienced lawyer. Getting legal aid funding is therefore vital if these GLOs are to proceed.

I must stress at this stage that I am not offering anyone legal advice on their claim; I am merely gathering information with a view to submitting legal aid applications for the GLOs and for gathering numbers for those solicitor firms that have expressed an interest in the GLOs. If anyone with a claim still wishes to register their interest, please PM me, and I will do my best to respond as soon as I can.

                                hi
once i have written to the bank to complain about charges how do i go about taking them to court? As i want to be included in this GLO and i currently have a case stayed with halifax but i have a lloyds/tsb case that i have only written to them about?

Is it too l8t to take lloyds to court at this stage?

Also no-one has got back to me regarding info on my claims to be included in GLO even though i sent an e-mail to Tom.

any information would be appreciated on this one.
