Like to see DVLA persist with their jive-ass prosecution in the face of that evidence, and get a kicking.

They would if they had me as an adversary. I can write a pretty mean legal submission when I have reason to do so.

So long as the legal submission highlights and illustrates the lack of any legal compulsion to force anyone to enquire of a situation with DVLA and the Limitations Act allowing post to be considered deliverd after 2 - 3 days, with a statement as to said posting on say Monday 3rd May by First Class therefore I can assume receipt as of Thursday 5th Mey, they are bolloxed imho,.

I always send Signed For, so I have a signature on delivery. That way, they're stuffed if they say I haven't sent it.

As an update,
Satutory dec was sent , Letter sent to Hartlepool Magistrates ( no idea why the case came up in Hartlepool as it isnt local to my old address) awaiting a response.
In the meantime several letters off collectica warning off all manner of seizure and break ins and car removal ,incurring of coure at least £200 extra fees ,should I not pay their £300 fees
