Re: Collectica Threat to attend with Locksmith no previous correspondance

As I was down my old area to drop in The Stautory Declaration I visited my old Address just to see if they had any post etc.
They said they had had Jabobs round several times regarding the HMCTS fine they just showed proof I didnt live there and they went away but they did say the visits would recurr about every 6 months .
Interestingly they had a letter addressed to me from Jacobs sent 4 weeks ago saying they had a distress warrant for the same Reference numbers that Collectica gave.
Whilst it is irrelevant to me as the fines are paid is it right that a court would issue 2 Distress warrants to 2 different bailiff companies for 2 different addresses whos is paying the sets of fees?
Or is Jacobs tied in with Collectica and actually the dont have a warrant at all.
I'd be interested to find the answer to this.

So would I. The four bailiff companies contracted to HMCTS to collect unpaid MC fines are -

              Marston Group
              Collectica (formerly Philips)
              Excel Civil Enforcement
              Swift

I would check with the court or, better still, the regional HMCTS Senior Enforcement Manager and his/her team as regards Jacobs' involvement. They do not hold a contract with HMCTS, so HMCTS need to explain what Jacobs were doing at your old address.

Didn't think Jacobs could collect HMCS

Absolutely correct, BB. The contracted companies are as per the list in Post #96. The OP needs to ask HMCTS what is going on.

the fine was from september 2010
It does seem odd to me I can only accept what she told me I have told her to forward on any more correspondence for me so I can see it for myself.
She definately said Jacobs and had written the date and reference unless she was getting confused with Philips do Philips still trade?

I think Serco bought Phillips and renamed them Collectica, other Beagles will know for sure

But in fairness to that comment when was the last time any of us can recall a "bent Bailiff" being held accountable for his/her actions .How many posts are on this site of Bailiffs misrepresenting their powers and how many Form 4 complaints have been upheld from that .The powers that they have are grossly exaggerated and there need to be an end to it .

The late Lord Denning summed it up perfectly when he said, "There is no place for bailiff's in a modern society. There are more effective methods of collecting debts that are more cost-effective and easier to administer." He was referring to Attachment of Benefits and Earnings Orders. My gut-feeling is that the politicians have been repeatedly badgered by the civil enforcement industry or, more likely, by those who cream off the profits from it, i.e. private equity groups, not to clamp down on the industry. My gut-instinct is that something is going to happen that will force the politicians to close down the civil enforcement industry and I would not be at all surprise if that comes before they have a chance to bring in their so-called reforms.

Thank you for that, Cloggy. However, from what the OP has said, it sounds like Jacobs were involved in HMCTS enforcement.
