Help needed with another letter from Cabot!

Hello everyone

I'm not sure what is best to do.. I have been ignoring these people for 3 or 4 months and every so often I will get a letter from them for an old capital one credit card account.

This one says "potential legal action", is this likely?
Do i ignore or make it difficult for them? Not sure what to do..... hope someone can help.

If not, now might be a good time to send it

Just out of interest, when was this account opened? Relatively recently maybe

What is an S78 request? I have never made contact with Cabot, yet! Lol

Account with capital one was open in 2012. Date of default with them was September 2013.

Thats brilliant... I'll use that! do I just send a letter in the post to them then? Recorded delivery needed Or just standard? Hand written or on computer? Thanks!

I have to put a £1 postal order too? What's that for?

The £1 is the legal statutory fee - it can be a postal order or if there is a cheque book in the house, a cheque.

I always add the number of the cheque /postal order into the CCA request

I type them out on the computer and then use a fancy font to sign them, some have come back asking for a signatire but you do not really need to actually sign them.

I also always keep a scanned copy of the letter , cheque/postal order and receipt of postage

Again I always send by Royal mail signed for, I think its about £1.70 - I keep that receipt stapled to my copy of the letter but I am a bit of an anorak and have a physical copy and also a scanned copy which is saved in google drive . I do this for all letters - I also number them so it may start

Thank you. I will type it up tomorrow using the template and just obviously use my own dates and details etc on it.
I will hopefully send it off tomorrow using singed for delivery!
I will do a £1 postal order as well (never done one before ��)

Go to post office ask for a crossed (means only recipient can cash) pound postal order, take it home and write on it pay' Cabot financial' then underneath I always write 'to be used for statutory fee only'.
Put in envelope with cca request seal with a kiss, post, then sit back and wait!

It'll cost you a pound plus fee of 50p. So for sake of £1.50 you'll have some peace for a while.

If you do the SAR then that's a tenner plus fee of £1.25.

A SAR is a request to original creditor for all information that they hold on you in relation to any dealings you have had with them. When you obtain this info you will have a better idea of what it is that Cabot may send you and to its legitimacy.
Knowledge is power! If the OC doesn't hold the necessary paperwork then that means should Cabot send you some alleged original paperwork then It must be reconstituted and therefore potentially flawed resulting in possibly an unenforceable account/debt.

Maybe a SAR is too expensive for you at the moment,

When was the account opened?

A SAR is useful if they produce a claim but that's not happened has it

No claim or anything yet. Just letters at the moment. £10 is a bit expensive for me at the moment yes, if it came too it later on then I perhaps would do a SAR?

That is what I would do.
When I first started sending Cca requests there is no way I could have afforded to send SARs.
