    Actually it is doing quite well but, sure, we do like a moan. Even when we got good weather in Ireland we would declare 'we'll pay for this'!
    It did go through a horrid time after the collapse of the Celtic tiger but there is a lot of money being ploughed back into the economy. I am loathe to go back though. My OH is English and would not mind living there but I still have a lot of 'baggage'! Their health system is woeful. Unless you are really on the breadline you have to pay to see a doctor then you pay for the cost of the medication -not just a fixed prescription charge. If you have to have a blood sample taken at your local surgery it is then up to you to get it to the nearest lab which for some could be 30 miles away. Social welfare is better however. If you lose your job the benefit you get is based on your previous PAYE contributions. Old people get unlimited free travel, much better state pensions and things like free phone and electricity.
    As for pretty, well, give me the UK any day. I have been lucky enough to travel the world but can, hand on heart, say that the UK is the most beautiful country and London the best city on the planet. All this is killing me to be honest as I truly believe we have what it takes to be an amazing country with the right management but we simply cannot stand isolated.

      I agree with most not all lol I think we can stand alone and prosper and as for London, far too corrupt to be the best capital in the world for me.

        Oh no! London is amazing! I agree there is a lot wrong but this is not as bad a country as we often think and London is wonderful. You have all those free galleries and museums housing the best collections in the world, it is easy to get about, beautiful open parks, fabulous wide streets and just look up at the architecture! Any day you can watch the changing of the guard -an amazing spectacle. You have Kew and even the National Archives at Kew, a wonder full resource and also free, where I often spend many, many hours, are set in a lovely garden where you can have lunch when the weather permits. I have never, ever seen a person who has fallen being stepped over as often suggested but I have seen strangers help one another.
        There is corruption and bad governing in all countries but to be honest, and although I constantly rant, we have a reasonable system here and I honestly believe if those who feel disenfranchised voted and spoke out more it would be near perfect. Organisations such as the NHS are disgracefully run but it can be changed.
        You have no dangerous or toxic animals, the roads are some of the safest in the world. Sanitation is excellent.
        Look you are all lucky enough to live in a very beautiful and relatively safe country. Just look at the US, always held up as the land of milk and honey yet awash with hate, violence and inequality much more profound than anything we have here. Be honest -If you had a choice where would you rather live? I am facing that decision and believe me, fanatic campaigner and moaner that I am,I think the UK is wonderful.
        I believe that every single one of us should fight for and treasure this extraordinary country.

          Me thinks you did snog the Blarney stone Paws lol, you could be a tour operator for the capital . Think Ame will tell you about me and London while I loved the show we went to and indeed the museums, I found the walking a killer lol x

                    The Petitions Committee has decided to schedule a House of Commons debate on this petition. The debate will take place on 5 September at 4.30pm in Westminster Hall, the second debating chamber of the House of Commons. The debate will be opened by Ian Blackford MP.
                    The Committee has decided that the huge number of people signing this petition means that it should be debated by MPs. The Petitions Committee would like to make clear that, in scheduling this debate, they are not supporting the call for a second referendum. The debate will allow MPs to put forward a range of views on behalf of their constituents. At the end of the debate, a Government Minister will respond to the points raised.
                    A debate in Westminster Hall does not have the power to change the law, and won’t end with the House of Commons deciding whether or not to have a second referendum. Moreover, the petition – which was opened on 25 May, well before the referendum – calls for the referendum rules to be changed. It is now too late for the rules to be changed retrospectively. It will be up to the Government to decide whether it wants to start the process of agreeing a new law for a second referendum.

                                No political groups in Parliament - Brexit vote weeks ago - now time to move on and stop harping on the matter, vote taken now comply regardless how anybody voted, not action in 2 years + and a bigger problems may arise in between, stop bickering in Parliament if it continues = General Election to sort it all out, no more internal bickering get on with Governing . enough is enough!


                                All talk & No action as usual from those over paid bigots we call Mps
