What we loose on one hand we gain on the other, were also a big enough economy not to be bullied to much, hoefully there will be a general election before the exit is formal with one party saying stay in as an election promise

I campaigned for leave and voted leave, being old enough to have lived without Europe and lived through the debates on if the UK should join a Common Market, free trade amongst the members

I remember thinking what a good idea less red tape/ regulation etc.

What I remember most is that the choice was a trade/industry/business alliance Not a European Super State dictating, passing laws, overriding our laws and burying businesses in mountains of red tape.

Nor was the idea to join a federalised / military European dictatorship as I recall another " organisation " tried this between 1939 and 1945 and got soundly chastised for it's actions.

Amethyst, tell me the benefits of FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT within the EU in regards to immigration and the impact on schools, NHS, local services etc etc.

Completely agree with you there.... both sides of the campaign were utter pants. It was a confusing campaign and those without the time or inclination to check sources and figures and claims constantly doesn't stand a bloody chance. Why couldn't they talk about what will happen if we voted out BEFORE the vote... sensibly - it's not like everyone just made up stuff this morning as soon as the result came in, its not like all those articles about 'what happens next?' were knocked up at 5am this morning - why not give people that info BEFORE the vote.

What do you perceive happening with regards freedom of movement ( and the forthcoming reduction to) ? ( if that was your primary reason for voting )

Immigration is apparently what everyone in my village voted Leave for, but no one really has told me what they expect to happen - other first thing this morning "all the [insert nationality not even in the EU] will have to leave " ....... so I'm hazarding a guess your reasons were slightly saner.

On the bright side ( if there is one) it's given a few people a kick up the bum that was needed.... although I was hopeful our own politicians would behave themselves better, particularly following the attrocious murder of Jo Cox MP, but now Cameron has thrown in the towel, and we're facing a Boris / Farage / Trump future, and sanity seems to have flown out the window.

No one persuaded me to vote leave. So I voted to stay.

I've never understood socialism but this isn't a capitalist/socialist discussion thread.

Basically those that voted out of the EU will be hit hardest by the effect of their vote.

Today, the facebook army of remainers have suggested I'm a rascist, stupid(you know who I mean ), that Nigel Farage's lie about the NHS influenced my vote, that I am a little englander and everything else.


I cannot talk about immigration cos I'm rascist so let's call it freedom of movement and the fact that it leads onto other things. If you don't know how many people are coming in then you cannot put resources into those areas of need.

I voted Leave in a city where over 75% of people disagreed, I voted against my work place and against the advice of the union. I knew which way I was voting and the football was on so missed out on all the fun of the debates. I was not persuaded. It rained yesterday, I got soaked, but I voted LEAVE.

I voted for something different but everyone wants me to believe that it is my fault that we are heading for oblivion. Well **** you all because you failed to persuade me to stay!!

Farage always said the NHS should be privatised so I was surprised when people believed he was going to plough all this cash (which never really existed anyway) into it.
Boris is not going to give the extreme anti Europe brigade what they want either. Instant exit and lots of ‘pulling up the drawbridge’.
Things are going to get pretty messy.
I bet no one thought we would see the day when sterling would drop 7.5% against the Brazilian Real! As they say 'on the street' that is 'WELL BAD'

anyone with a pension is likley to be hit the most... really makes no sense.... i have spoken to a few people today that have regretted voting out, didnt think about consiquences
