I would like some information, How do we go about keeping the Mother In Laws house, now her Husband has died, We want to move in with her and do the place up. We have been told However. that if she needs to go into a home (she has Dementia) anytime in the next 7 years, They will take her house off her to pay for her care. Any Advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My question is, is she of capacity to make a decision without being influenced, how serious is her dementia?

Re: Hi All
We have looked into power of attorney, all that says is we have power over her finances, It does not say we have power over the house. So when we get power of attorney, they cant take it of us? We do not need carer`s we will do that, until we can not anymore, She is in the early stages of Dementia, there but not sometimes,
