Re: digital media as defined by CRA 2015

changing the subject slightly, my great aunt used to read palms ... "cross my palm with silver and I'll tell your future" she'd ask unsuspecting folk. As soon as they did she'd grab their hand, stare intently at the lines and say "you're going to get wet soon"

as they looked at her in confusion she'd spit in their palm and promptly roll around on the floor laughing (admittedly it was usually after a couple of pints).

she also scared off every so-called Romany gypsy that trawled the local market selling trinkets. "buy one of these and I'll tell your fortune?" they'd say ... "I'll read your tarot cards for £20, how much will you owe me if I take off the price of a plastic bead?"

lol....its amazing how quickly people go off-piste.....the topic was....is a psychic reading or an astrological reading/chart considered digital content....not whether psychics, mediums, astrologers (and now we have romaine's and gypsies thrown into the pot) genuine, that is covered by a whole different law that replaced the fake mediums act, replace the witchcraft act. so..........is a reading carried out for an individual and emailed to them with the proviso that it is, as the law states it must be, for entertainment purposes only. if the reading is done, typed up and delivered to your inbox.....are there any comebacks?

Digital content includes software, music, films, e-books, computer games and applications or “apps”.

You will be offering a service - personalised text, written individually based on data they give you ( presumably ) - in PDF format ? So really would it come under services or personalised products - then delivered electronically.

Possibly issues under CPUTR 2007 - although if you are labelling it as entertainment I think that covers it.

I don't think it is quite as straightforward so I think it needs a bit more looking into.

MichelleKnights terms are pretty comprehensive for research purposes.

Not meaning to be down on it, it helps those who believe, and many who don't and I know a number of people who regularly have readings - not my cup of tea but maybe I'm just worried what they might find xxxx

Sorry we haven't got a definitive answer for you though - it will bug me so I'll look into it more.

For now though your chair sounds a bit of a pain.
