I have been asked to sign over my portion of the equity in our current home in order for my husband ( of 19yrs) to buy a new home for us. The reason is the mortgage will be solely in his name is because l haven't been able to put my name on the mortgage ( due to debt) and as a result l am not able to be added onto the Deeds ( there is a small 150K mortgage taken out by my husband on the new property). The reason for the question is:* my husband has had affairs - lies easily - and will do almost anything to get his way. I am trapped in poverty ...... I just need to understand that if l take a leap of faith and do this how much trouble could l be in store for?

If you sign over your equity without being paid for it then your husband will own all the equity in the new property. Is the equity needed as a deposit and the mortgage on top to reach the value?COMPLETING AN N180 DIRECTIONS QUESTIONNAIRE (SMALL CLAIMS TRACK) GUIDE

The solicitor can register you both on the titles deeds at the time of completing the new purchase with a charge for you share of the equity meaning if your husband tried to sell he would have to pay you that share.COMPLETING AN N180 DIRECTIONS QUESTIONNAIRE (SMALL CLAIMS TRACK) GUIDE
