  • Allay claims fraudulent claim

    Good morning,

I received an email around a week ago stating that a PPI complaint had been made in my name, after checking the documents attached I found that somehow the details used were somewhat true. They had my real name, a real yet my old email address and an address I lived at 15 years ago, it was also signed in a signature which was not my own. So naturally I've been trying to contact allay to cancel this complaint and to see how they've managed to get some of my details. After 10 emails they've finally got back to me stating that basically there going to go ahead with the claim regardless because as far as they're concerned the claim was made genuinely and that if the claim is successful they are going to charge me their admin fees etc.
Basically what I want to know is what I do from here? Do I go to the police as far as I'm concerned this is fraud?

    Thanks

Who did the email come from ? The lender that the claim was against?

Have you ever filled in an enquiry form online to see if you might have PPI ? Allay have a form on their homepage ( and affiliate pages ) which appears just to be 'check if you had ppi' but they take that as an instruction to act.

When you say the signature was not yours, was that on a third party authority form ? Did allay or the lender send you a copy ? Who's signature is it or is it someone else has fraudulently signed in your name ?

You need to write to allay asking for evidence of you entering into an agreement with them ( a Subject Access request too ) and make a formal complaint which you can then take to the financial ombudsman.

Also tell the lender you withdraw any third party authority and do not wish to make a claim ( assuming that's the case).
