Hello. I am new on here so sorry if I've not posted this correctly.
I visited a local retail park on Sunday and stupidly stole 2 tops a necklace and a bracelet from Fatface store. Nothing happened that day but I visited again and purchased some items from boots and on way to car site security asked me to go with them as they had seen the theft on CCTV and used ANPR on my car. I was terrified and felt sick. I told them I did not know why I had taken items (I suffer with depression and anxiety but do not want to make excuses for this awful behaviour). The police came out and i admitted what i'd done. They check the items and receipts from that day. The police gave me a community resolution order and i was band from site for 12mths. The police officers followed me home to recover the items which I gladly handed over. The thing is I also took some cheap earrings from Accessorize the same day and i'm anxious they will look back at all my activity that day and then turn up and arrest me and put me in prison. They did ask me if i'd taken anything else that day but I said no. I am a grown up, professional woman with a family and I have made a stupid stupud mistake and I don't really know why. I am so scared the police will turn up and take me away. I did ask the police if that was the end of it and they said yes, unless I do it again (which I will not). Any advice welcome. I feel like the worst person.

I'm worried they will go back over CCTV and find I took other things. I am so scared. I chucked the other items in the bin. They were not of any value. ( I gave back the items from Fatface).

        Stop beating yourself up.
It is not uncommon for those with mental health problems to act out of character, it's life.

Don't worry about Accessorize as it is most unlikely they even picked up on your theft, and they certainly won't be scanning all the CCTV footage for that day in the hope they might spot you. Just imagine how many cameras there are in that retail park and how long it would take to examine all the discs. It just won't be happening.

I've had a look around and I can't find any examples of Fatface using civil recovery firms, but if you do hear from one ignore their demands and come back here for support.

now get on with your life and looking after your family

Thank you. Both your posts have made me cry. I've not eaten in the last couple of days and my head is banging. I've taken 2 days unpaid leave because i'm so scared the police will be informed of other items I took and turn up at work or home to take me to the station. I am deep down a good honest person. I work hard as a nurse and this also worries me. Should I tell my nanager? The police attended so I guess it will be on my enhanced DBS thenext time it gets checked (which will be in 2021). Also as the police were called out; will I have a criminal record? I feel like i'm going a bit mad. Sorry to ramble on x

you do not have a criminal record, (altho' this information is kept on police records) so does not need to be declared. This is because it isn’t a caution or a conviction, so isn’t formally covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
It might be disclosed as part of an enhanced check in the ‘relevant information’ section, i.e. the offence has a bearing on the kind of work you do, but I have read it rarely happens (so don't despair)

I work with children in school nursing do you think this would be relevant to it being disclosed?
Do you think it's likely the police will turn up at work/home? I literally was looking out my window at home today everytime a car drove in the street.
                I guess I deserve whatever happens...I'm a complete fool.

Does it matter that the police read the miranda rights to me? Is that classed as a caution/conviction or would they have taken me to station for it to be one of those? Sorry for all questions

You were questioned under caution.... that is not a caution, nor a conviction.
If the police wish to question a suspect they must first tell that person their rights.

The police aren't going to descend upon your home, nor even visit you.
                    They have closed the matter.

I doubt it is a matter relevant to your occupation.

You say "I guess I deserve whatever happens."
It has happened in that you have a community resolution order and a lot of anxiety.
                    Nothing else will happen
Try and calm down for the sake of your family and your own sanity.
It was not the crime of the century, there may be extenuating circumstances and it has been dealt with.

Thank you. I suffer so bad with anxiety. I can't think about anything else. I even said to the pokiceman 'i'm not a bad person'; he agreed and said 'you just made a mistake; I see 'bad' people all the time. I still feel like i've committed something very damaging to the rest of my life. I am trying to calm down. Thank you.

The photo will not be made public.
They are retained for identification purposes in case you enter their store during the period of the ban.
I doubt anyone will ever look at it again

                            Really, nothing more will happen.
The incident is finished and closed

Thank you for being so kind and not judging me. Some sites I found were really nasty to people about this topic. No-one can make me feel as bad as i'm making myself feel. Like I said I am really a honest kind person but I lack self-esteem and belief in myself at times. Thank you again xx
