  • Ccj and Lowell

    Hi
so I received a letter today from Lowell portfolio starting that I hadn't paid my ccj (dated October 2015).. And I've been reading about the statue barred..the original debt is dated 7th May 2013..No payments made no contact made on my behalf.. I'm a little confused.. do I make contact and pay or ??

    thank in advance

Statute barred doesn't apply if they have a CCJ against you .The 6yr clock would have stopped at the time of court proceedings .Up to you if you get in touch but ignoring a ccj won't make it go away and can lead to further issues over non payment .

Did you know about the CCJ before your received this letter?

If the judgment was Oct 2015 then that stopped the clock and it wasn't statute barred then.... and it doesn't go statute barred once there is a judgment, so it's either set up installments to pay or apply to court to set aside the judgment. CCJ's stay on your credit file for 6 years, so till Oct 2021.

Whoops sorry Glendale, we must have posted at same time, so .... what Glendale said ^^^^^^ xxx

Have they taken any enforcement action since obtaining the CCJ?
