  • General Form of Judgement or Order

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
A couple of years ago I had a dispute with a builder who had carried out an extension on my house. It went to mediation and a Tomline Order was raised in my favour. The builder completed all payments except the last one. I have sent the appropriate paperwork to the Court and have just received form N24 stating the defendant has until 4:00pm on 20th April to pay the outstanding sum plus the application fee.

My question here is if he doesn’t pay what are my next steps. Thanks in advance of any help/guidance.

The next steps are if he doesn't pay that you inform the court and they will enter judgement against him. He'll get an order to pay either with a time period on it (14 days) or forthwith (28 days to pay). If he still doesn't pay then you will have to look at an application for a Warrant of Control to send the bailiffs around.
