Re: School days..what are your memories?

My first woodwork master threw whatever was to hand at inattentive pupils. Usually, this was just bits of wood, though it could be a hand brush for sweeping the bench clean or a mallet...

On one occasion, he threw a chisel.

    Sharp end first.

The pupil made a full recovery after surgery.

I do hope he remembered to wipe the blood off the chisel.

It would have been a pity if it had gone rusty.

Don't know if any of you remember the fashion for bags with logos on,,plastic/fabric things?
We had a huge Domestic Science Lab......aka KITCHEN....and 6 electric cookers.....One day..for a laugh we hid our friends Colmans Mustard in a cooker and toddled off laughing like hyenas. (The DS Lab was also our 'form room'sowe would witness our jolly jape as she searched high and low)
What we didn't factor in to our cunning plan was that the DS teacher would pop in and put the ovens on to warm for the next lesson............................................ .........
T'was an interesting month not having any interaction with anyone but the Head.....all our classes done in complete silence.....in the staff room.
How were we to know the bloody bag would melt and give off thick black acrid smoke that permeated every part of the school,,ruin the cooker,,get the Fire Brigade out????

Our French teacher Mr Kinsey or pick, lick and flick as we called him, as he had an unhealthy relationship with his nose, you have to use yer imagination here guys or I will be sick if I have to explain it.
I had the slipper too on me hands they did not do girls backsides lol that was for forging me mums signature on a note to say I could go home for dinners (actually to corner shop for 2 fags and 5 matches with me dinner money) my greatest regret in life that I ever put a fag to my lips.
Got me face slapped in registration cause the teacher said I was taking the P, I did have a genuine mental block on my number but hey ho he wouldn't have it.
Always in trouble for giggling, I was always the one who got caught, hence started off in next to the top stream and went down every year. The last year I was top of the class, just on my way up and they kicked me out at the ripe old age of 14.

Still, on the positive side, it's left me with a lifelong distaste for bullies of all kinds....so maybe the Saras, Selina's and Eleanors who made my life hell....did me a favour!?

I was bullied too, they made my life hell, that was until it was announced that I'd been picked for the County Swimming team then suddenly everyone wanted to be my friend and get a day off to come and support us.

When you think of the stuff they did in them days lol I watched as a lad was dragged to front of class and his head rammed in blackboard, many missiles of all kinds thrown at us, slipper, cane, detention, lines and guess what we all respected them teachers, not saying we liked 'em but respect we did. When the younger easier going lot came into teaching the ones who would befriend us and make out we were all equal, then came the demise and it's gone down hill ever since IMHO of course lol

Kids have it way too easy today....too many do gooders..they should stop nambypambying kids with 'labels' and start realising that half the little buggers know how to play the system better than the adults.
Shame they don't seem to be able to spot abuse in front of their bloody eyes cos they're too busy being all airy-fairy with brats who are playing them for the fools they are .........IMVHO........just sayin........
