      2. Winding others up is not funny Oh it can be, right place right time but if that was aimed at me I have no idea what you are on about

      3. If you don't understand no.2 then its not your problem, if you understand it then stop winding everyone up I have really no idea what that is supposed to mean, I really don't. For the record there are really only two people on here who I might tease , oh and Cloggy obviously

Fair comment, I forgot about that one, and yes the remark could be misconstrued as homophobic and we wouldn't want to be accused of that would we ?

Thats good, you're not involved then

Teasing is ok, outright insulting/upsetting people is not ok is it ?

          Re: Ban "Lads Mags"?

Thanks , that means I am not going mad

Of course just like any comments they can be taken a number of ways so what is said to me by person A may not seem homophobic to me but may to someone else, that goes for racism sexism etc. That may well be what has caused confusion in the past. Sometimes things are best left unsaid when not in context

As for teasing or being rude, well I may tease someone but if in my opinion someone is out of order I may be more direct .

Anyway not wanting to cause a fight I will retire to my padded cell

            Re: Ban "Lads Mags"?

Why would 'winding people up' on a consumer forum be seen as some sort of sport,,especially in the middle of some poor OP's thread who has come here to get advice on a REAL problem?
Yes,,there are 'discussion threads' such as this one but sadly they ALWAYS denegrate into nasty spiteful mud slinging. Personal comments and jibes are NOT funny,,they can hurt, just because a person comes across as forthright and capable doesn't mean the ridicule doesn't affect them.
It's awful trying to find salient points on threads when the general gist of the OP's post has been lost amongst the 'jocular backslapping of who can think of the cleverest insult,,the smartest retort..what silly name can we give XYZ'
Yes,,regulars on here 'know' each other,,new OP's don't..and I have cringed at times.
Regulars on here don't have to 'like' each other,,nor so they have to be rude to those they dislike..let's leave the other famous forums to behave like that.

                Inca
Was that aimed at me or am I being over sensitive?
I said winding people up can be fun in he right place and the right time and with the right person. An example may be, if someone is continually giving out duff information in a self important way I take some satisfaction in being a thorn in their side ( I am not referring to anyone on this forum).
As for hurting people that is rarely my intention however that works both ways. Someone who appears strident and opinionated may hurt others.
Few of us "know" each other in any real sense of the word but some form little groups who defend each other and that can be seen as bullying.
