The idea of banning something just because it is against your principles is an odd one, unless there is an obvious reason, for example asking someone to remove a crash helmet before entering a bank.. or asking someone to uncover their face to pass Border Control, and then only in a respectful way...

What ever happened to Live and let live?
Wise words, Puff! Would like to add that objections to (eg) Sharia Law amongst us that do object are cultural/libertarian -and not racist. All religions - Christianity, Islam, Bhuddism etc., etc. - now have adherents of all races and skin colours - even Judaism (which last century was castigated for being genetically inherited) now has many converts and apostates of all races. An objection to religious or cultural prejudice IS NOT RACIST. Many here are too young to know how hard we fought in the 60s/70s for equality here in this country. Freedom!

It won't be long before lads mags are gone because smartphones and the net are cheaper.

Eloise I am not going to argue with you , but your comment gives a negative impression of being gay and promotes discrimination just as much as not saying anything.
We all have different perceptions of what is acceptable and maybe in context what you said had some reason , however to repeat it on a public forum in all seriousness is , i think unacceptable.
I am not a card carrying gay rights activist and (unless there are double standards) would never force anyone to come out even though I am grateful for all those that did before me.
Generally the only reason people know I am gay is because I refer to my partner by name or as he. The freedom to be able to do that is very important.
For the record I also feel that the gay magazines (minds out of the gutter please) should rely more on journalism as they used to and less on pretty boys with few clothes on
I agree with you Jon that Gay equality is still being hard-fought and must not be sacrificed to religious (or any other) bigotry x

Im not gay or a muslim im a person who beleives everone has the right to be who or what they want to be ,if they want to discriminate against any group race religion or person they can just not in so much as it is against the law unless they want to face the penalties Laws can never be passed that stop anything and that happens we are all free to act how we want but realise we must face the consequencies after all its against the law to do many things but these still happen?

Is the big red pen at work on this thread ?
I could swear that some words have been removed from some posts but nothing posted about the edit.

Either that or I have finally gone over the edge

                          1. No words have been removed, no editing has been done

                          2. Winding others up is not funny

                          3. If you don't understand no.2 then its not your problem, if you understand it then stop winding everyone up
