    Re: Ban "Lads Mags"?

I tried patches.....made my ex very unwell when one inadvertantly landed on his arse and he didn't notice for hours,,he went from a non smoker to getting a hit of nicotine..and I laughed for hours.
    Gum.....disgusting.
Vaping.......still plucking up the courage but annoyed that the 'jobsworths' want to licence them.

As I said above Cloggy the statements could be relevant to anything you wish it to be.

I object to the farmer who owns the land opposite my ghetto choosing the hottest day of every year to spray his crops with fertilizer...soon as the plane takes off you hear all the windows and doors being closed for miles lol

            Exactly so!

One might wonder if someone had chosen to misinterpret what I had written and filed a disingenuous report with admin.

Dunno exactly what your rattling on about Cloggy, but I can assure you that no such report has been received by myself.

Oh dear. While I am not great fan of lads mags I can not believe how anyone who claims to be tolerant can use the phrase "at least he is not gay" .That is IMHO just a sign of homophobia. Also at 15 many boys do not know where they sit on the sexuality spectrum and as Cloggy quite rightly says they COULD have being trying to "cure" themselves.
It took mee many years and some heartbreak to work out who i am and I will not have anyone belittlingit.

I'm surprised it took this long for the comment. Nobody was belittling you or anyone else. If you have ever had this conversation with the mother of a devout Muslim, then you would understand. My friend knows that despite HER beliefs and our friendship, I would fight tooth and nail to protect her children, from her if necessary. It forms part of the basis of a firm friendship that had lasted more than 20 years. I am not going to change her view that it is a sin to be gay. But if one of her children is, they will have my full and active support to live the life they want to. I don't expect her to force her daughters to marry either, but she knows damn well what will happen if she or anyone else did try.

I told this same story to gay friends who thought it funny. So you don't. Well that is life.

And for the record, I have NEVER claimed to be tolerant. Tolerance is for the indolent. I am intolerant of a whole load of things. Racism, sexism, discrimination, the EDL, the BNP.....

my view is the same towards lad's mags and porn.. it's not for me but if you enjoy it, have a blast!!

I have a dislike of You've been Framed, the idea of folk laughing at people who have obviously hurt themselves repels me, but Hubby loves it, who am I to say stop?

The idea of banning something just because it is against your principles is an odd one, unless there is an obvious reason, for example asking someone to remove a crash helmet before entering a bank.. or asking someone to uncover their face to pass Border Control, and then only in a respectful way...

What ever happened to Live and let live?

Cloggy do you want a slap!

Eloise I am not going to argue with you , but your comment gives a negative impression of being gay and promotes discrimination just as much as not saying anything.
We all have different perceptions of what is acceptable and maybe in context what you said had some reason , however to repeat it on a public forum in all seriousness is , i think unacceptable.
I am not a card carrying gay rights activist and (unless there are double standards) would never force anyone to come out even though I am grateful for all those that did before me.
Generally the only reason people know I am gay is because I refer to my partner by name or as he. The freedom to be able to do that is very important.
For the record I also feel that the gay magazines (minds out of the gutter please) should rely more on journalism as they used to and less on pretty boys with few clothes on
