It doesn't necessarily have to be searching for further information on another forum, just a quick google will give all sorts of valuable information - and within that you will find links to other useful places for info - for example the CAB.

The difference is, you were actually helped so you had no need to look further.

I believe, that if someone is in trouble and they truly want to help themselves then they will seek out help; they will do everything in their power to learn as much as they can about whatever subject is troubling them; they will visit lots of sites for help and ask lots of questions.

However, if people choose to stay with a site like CAG out of some kind of (clearly misguided) loyalty, where they are not getting help, then maybe they do not deserve to helped.
Amy yes and no, although I've never been on CAG I've been following the saga. I found a forum purely by accident, was looking for what I could find on something, found a forum and as a naive poster stuck with them, yes they did give me very good advice and I did win back a large amount of ppi.( I might add I wasn't even looking at ppi, never knew I could get it back as I had already been told to fob off by the company) But I never went looking anywhere else, didn't know there was such a big forum culture. I only discovered other forums when I was invited to go to PAG by one of its members, and from there found LB. Even now, I only visit LB and PAG, cause even if I am not in need of any help at the moment, anything can happen and in the meantime I'm on a bit of a learning curve. (And oh I'm not on the first site anymore, I was banned). I just don't feel the need to go anywhere else.

I think most of us here see posts over there that we are well able to answer. However, if we posted replies under the usernames we have here, we'd be banned in a heartbeat.

If we post under another username, but it doesn't agree with what everyone else has posted or is posting, then we are banned in a heartbeat.

See where I'm going with this?

I saw a bailiff thread the other day with lots of replies, lots of offers to write letters and lots of offers of moral support, but not one person had actually said that the walking possession order was invalid because peaceful entry had not been gained. I noticed this particular user was registered here, so I PMd her and she's been helped.

Conversely, they allow a DCA to post with their blessing - you really couldn't make it up.

Me too PT. Tried my best with the bank charges test case, failed miserable, but am not one to give up.... one day we will all be on the side of the consumers rather than on the side of individual sites, just takes some a bit longer than others to realise that works much better than fighting.

(when I left they closed every single thread I had ever started, and a fair few of those were started on behalf of others who needed help - bloody frustrating I have to say!)

It is a shame that this is the case,

I would have prefered that all the consumer forums work together, this would ensure that our voices are heard and that people take notice, however, with sooo much in fighting and with the likes of the one who shall not be named openly attacking me over there, its clear that is never going to happen.

The options i had were stay and let this person carry on

or leave, which i have done, sadly the people who are in difficulty are the ones who will suffer, i have seen lots of posts i could answer over there, but i said that it was my last post and i mean it, its over for me

    yeah i cant disagree.

I have never been bothered with the politics crap that goes on, its not me, but when a person goes on a witch hunt like happened to me and the upper echelons of power dont support you and more frustratingly, support the one who is attacking you, that is where a line must be drawn and where one must walk away.

    So here i am.

    to clarify

the 4th Sept is the latest, we would expect judgment to be sent to us shortly, and then we will have the chance to review it and then the formal judgment will be handed down in open court

I also have a case in the Court of Appeal which has potential to seriously harm Carey or atleast limit its effect and deal with scenarios where creditors keep reproducing docs til they get it right
