      Re: Any advice? (silly question)

If she is constantly trying to create a drama or portraying herself in a victim/hero role then I would question whether she has self esteem issues, as she seems to asking for attention (albeit in the wrong way)

Problem is her age, she is too young for adult services, but too old for children services - if she is ful time education then she might have access to services via the school.

Otherwise Connexions would be the best bet to contact http://www.connexions-direct.com/ This is an absoultely amazing service and they have reaaly helped some of the young perople our service has had involvement with.

Thanks for that I am aware of Connexions but not in that capacity.

She is a very self confident girl but very aware of her appeal to the opposite sex as well.

Being allowed to go out in very revealing clothes from an early age IMO did not help as she looked older than she was, lapped up the attention - but now is probably confused that she attracts the wrong sort of people.

Its suprising how much stress and arguments all the lies cause - and you are correct she does get attention through it every day.

she has just started a new college this month. she is a bright girl but with all the upset about the stealing etc - she totally lost the plot and passed 3 gcse above C so could not get on an A level course. But the college have let her on a course that needed 5 GCSE - but she is being observed and if she does not buckle down she will be put on a lower course.

              Hi Scooby,

One of mine (14/15 year-old girl) is a bit of a nightmare - often in trouble in & out of school.
We've just had her assessed via CaMHS - turns out she's got a medium/severe receptive language disorder (doesn't comprehend that what she does isn't acceptable to others - sorry about the double negative).
Not rubberstamped yet, but should mean that her school will have to go a bit easier on her, possibly councelling to learn coping strategies & of course police would have to TIC if necessary.
              Hope this helps.

              Regards,

CaMHS works in partnership with parents/guardians, schools, Education Welfare, doctors, etc. to give an overall assessment and to advise on possible support/strategies/councelling etc.
