Jenson Button claimed pole for the Australian Grand Prix ahead of team-mate Rubens Barrichello as Brawn GP put in a stunning show on their debut.

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica will make up the second row at Melbourne's Albert Park.

McLaren's world champion Lewis Hamilton will start 15th after suffering problems with his rear drive train.

Ferrari's Felipe Massa split the Toyota drivers Timo Glock and Jarno Trulli in seventh in a very competitive session.

I completely changed my team after pracitice session cos Hamilton will be lucky to win anything this season in an slow car

Brilliant race...what a drive from Button and never discount Hamilton great drive from him! I enjoyed every minute of that!!!


When does the website give us points? ohhh don't know If I submitted mine or not??

If you have submitted your team mocha then my money is on you being the top of the leaderboard. Did you by any chance chose your team after the race?

I would have made better choices if I had done it after the race lol brawn the whole way!!! Worried ive not submitted it I cant find where to check if I have or not?!?

I dont really understand the website lol Whats the deal with the transfer thing?

An absolutely fantastic start to the 2009 F1 season. Just sat through the whole 3 hours on BBCi-player BBC iPlayer - Formula 1: 2009: The Australian Grand Prix

After the troubles of Honda pulling out of F1 leaving Button wondering whether he would have a Team or indeed a car this season, despite having limited testing and development, Brawn came up with a winning car.

What a brilliant race. I was interested to see the new KERS system in use and the differences it made in overtaking situations, I can see this playing an exciting part this season.

No idea how the Beagles league stands, hopefully PKea wil update us all soon.

All results, and therefore points, will be updated within 48 hours of a Grand Prix finishing.

To keep this game as up to date as possible we use the results that all the original news agencies report. If there are reverse decisions or the results are reported differently after the initial report we will NOT change the original score reported. However, if the circumstance arises that the initial key news agencies incorrectly report the results of a race fantasy points will be subsequently changed within the game.

e.g. if a driver is disqualified from the Italian GP on the Monday afternoon following the race, fantasy points will not be changed to reflect this and his initial race results will stand. However, if the official report of the race is incorrect and changed following the allocation of fantasy points, the points will be recalculated to reflect the correct official race result.

Whats the deal with the transfer thing?

You can make up to 3 transfers per race throughout the season. Your transfer allocation will be 'topped up' at the end of each race as outlined in the Game Rules. You cannot carry unused transfers over to the following race. Remember, all your transfer must be done prior to 17:00 UK time on the Friday prior to the Grand Prix weekend to score points in that particular race.

You can make transfers to optimize your point scoring potential. Once you have logged on, head to the 'Team' section. Select the player you want to transfer out. From the list of available components then select the component you want to transfer in. Any component marked 'x' are out of your budget. Complete the transfer by choosing the 'Yes! I want to make this transfer!' option.

All Transfers must be completed before 17.00 UK time on the Friday before Race Day to score/lose points for the forthcoming qualifying days and race. Any driver/constructors/engines transferred after this time will not score points until the next race. Time of transfers will be recorded as per the server clock (displayed in the top right hand side of the screen).

All Brawn GP components can now be selected, ie Team, Drivers, engines

I just had a look at our league and it seems that half of the teams in our league did not select to be entered into Sundays race. So I am not bottom after all.
