As you may know Amazon are offering tours of their fulfilment centres in an effort to demonstrate how blissfully happy they're employees are.

I thought I might enquire.

Nice try but the ''indirect'' taxes they say they pay are in fact a combination of VAT (which their customers pay) and PAYE (which their employees pay).

Sure, I'm happy to answer your questions. During the tour, you'll see and hear first-hand how we are investing heavily in creating jobs and infrastructure across the UK – more than £18bn since 2010. The UK has now become one of Amazon's largest global hubs for talent and this year we announced plans to create 2,000 new jobs in the country, taking our total workforce to over 29,500.
