I think you've looked at the wrong fixtures Liam as its FA Cup playoff week and I know that
West Ham are at home to Barnsley and my beloved Chelsea are at home to my local team Southend United.

I am of course the lynchpin to the league as I am propping it up. No books for the Beagles Bed. Torrid week from the provisional points but I have 3 players in action tonight and I have two of 3 subs to count this week which, with Arteta means that I will double the current provisional points of 12 this week. Since I got rid of Zaki, he has had a wonderful christmas. I suspect Defoe has stopped scoring and playing since I kept him in the team. I am still looking to get in among the pack by the end of next month.

I made some transfers last week but forgot to play one of them, who ended up in the dream team - bugger! Have now got shot of Diarra. Droghba is bound to score on Boxing day - he's playng against us lol. Have made a couple more transfers this week, that means I've lost 24 points over the last 2 weeks. But I don't care - I like 11th place, I'm used to it there...

have switched Zaki for Marlon King as Hull have a mid table type game against Bolton which I suspect could have goals.

Arsenal and Liverpool clash on Sunday in the biggest game of the weekend. League leaders Liverpool will be going all out for a win over one of their title rivals, while Arsenal know they have to win if they are to keep their slim championship challenge alive. The Gunners will be boosted by the news that Eduardo played 45 minutes for the reserves in midweek and is close to full fitness following his horrific injury.

Sam Allardyce returns to management on Saturday as he leads out Blackburn for the first time, as Stoke visit Ewood Park. The former Bolton and Newcastle boss takes over from Paul Ince who was sacked on Tuesday, and will be eager to improve morale as Rovers are 19th in the league and have lost their last six games.

Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear is hopeful that Michael Owen will sign a new contract and commit his future to the club. Owen, who has scored three goals in his last two games, could leave on a free transfer in the summer if he decides against a new deal. Newcastle face Tottenham on Sunday in a game between two teams that have been revitalised by new managers after poor starts to the season.

Manchester United were scheduled to meet Wigan this weekend, but the game has been postponed until 14th January because the European champions are in Japan trying to win the FIFA Club World Cup. Sunderland will be without left-back George McCartney for two months following operations on both feet, and combative midfielder Lassana Diarra is on his way to Real Madrid after Portsmouth accepted a massive offer.
