Re: OFT says bank charges are unfair

It may not matter but the first Bloomberg artcle is dated 13th - the day before the OFT published the Q&As. The artcle's thrust is that that all the banks have been told their charges are unfair which cannot really be a firm conclusion that could be drawn from the Q&As.

Re: OFT says bank charges are unfair

      NEW YORK Sep 03 04:06 London, Sep 03 09:06

ie Q&A sent out to media embargoed till 00.01 14th August Bloomberg had 5 hours to make the article come out on 13th.

and ''no bank's terms have been given a clean bill of health'' really is quite firmly conclusive that all banks have unfair terms.

(sorry feeling like I'm nitpicking now - I just think if a special press release or comment had been made to bloomberg thay would have said more than exactly whats said in the Q&A. The rest is journalistic apart from the specific quotes and I'm a bit miffed that the UK's FT got their info from Bloomberg rather than from the OFT if you see what I mean.)
