Thousands of sites are attacked every year....Lloyds suffered a major DDOS attack a while back (theres news reports on this forum somewhere).......so really I wouldn't like to cast aspertions. (no really )

Well done Ame & Bert for getting it sorted out so promptly. Although I do hear that it was mostly Ame's hard work that cracked it, and Bert (typical bloke) just watched from the sidelines with a cuppa.
Anyway just to let you know that yesterday whilst the site was down I actually got round to boxing up loads of stuff and donating it to our local cubs/scouts for their fundraising. So a little good has come from it in this house anyway. :okay:

It is a tribute to the effort Ame & Tools have put it to getting the site back online in such a short timescape.

When you have worked so hard in getting the site to this standard and then you are powerless to stop the initial attack, it can be very disheartening.

I know Ame was battling alone in the early part of the attack and can only extend my thanks to her for her efforts.

Behind the scenes Ame & Tools are constantly tweaking parts of the forum or adding extra functions. All which go unseen to users most of the time.

Plus like the rest of the team they are constantly running the forum and making it a friendly place for the users as well.

I wont cast aspertions on the sources of this attack, but I am a member of another forum which was the victim of a targeted DDoS attack and it brought down the site, plus its mirror for a couple of weeks.
