Re: Hello All
I took out a car on h.p in my name but have never used it but still paying the instalments as it was for an ex- partner who uses the car.I have asked to terminate the agreement but i have not got the spare key or the v5 documentation.I can not guarantee the car being there when it is to be returned either as my ex has the car& do not even communicate etc with the person.I have paid half the payments now but would like the car returned but how do i go about it please. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hello All
This sounds like it could get messy. Has your ex agreed to returning the car ? If not is there a way he could say you gave the car to him as a gift ? What was the agreement between you and your ex with regards the HP agreement on the car - did your ex pay anything towards it ?Originally posted by notanotherdonkey View PostI took out a car on h.p in my name but have never used it but still paying the instalments as it was for an ex- partner who uses the car.I have asked to terminate the agreement but i have not got the spare key or the v5 documentation.I can not guarantee the car being there when it is to be returned either as my ex has the car& do not even communicate etc with the person.I have paid half the payments now but would like the car returned but how do i go about it please. Thanks in advance.#staysafestayhome

Re: Hello All
No my ex has not agreed to return the car.The agreement was as my ex had bad credit so i took out h.p on car but would pay me monthly, had some cash but also money into my account monthly but nothing for last 10 months now.I went for mediation etc then ex had to go to court for questioning as just ignored everything from myself or would of went to prison if failed to attend for a different matter but i did put it in the additional questions but was left out for some reason.Originally posted by Amethyst View PostThis sounds like it could get messy. Re: Hello All
As the car is not in your ownership you need to get it back into your ownership before you can voluntary terminate.
Do you have copies of your documents from taking out the HP ?
What was the questioning for ? Is there a house involved in the break up etc ?#staysafestayhome

Re: Hello All
Yes have copies of documents from hp.The x- partner owed me money but not working for last 7 months so can not get attachment to earnings so going for the property now. That is the problem getting the car back in my ownership when the ex is just ignoring everything, the hp will pick it up but i can not guarantee the car will be at that address etc.Originally posted by Amethyst View PostAs the car is not in your ownership you need to get it back into your ownership before you can voluntary terminate.
