It has been found that an mistyped VRM is de minimis as the object of the contract, ie paying for parking, was actually achieved. I can't remember the details unfortunately

Found this on MSE
Of course it's a different company but could help in the argument that it would be considered de-minimis as it is an obvious error and should/could have been picked up on quite easily - particuarly as the format is wrong as we don't generally have numbers at the beginning of reg plates. Presumably they run some kind of matching programme from their ANPR camera date before issuing PCN's to vehicles that don't appear to have purchased parking? Couldn't see any actual court ruling on the issue though, if anything is about it's likely to be on pepipoo - but I couldn't see anything on a quick look.We can confirm that, with HX Car Park Management, this is absolutely the case. Not only that, but in every instance of a PCN being issued, we will actively assess the possibility of human error. To this end, if the number plate entered by the motorist displays up to two characters difference from the number plate of the vehicle in question, we will automatically dismiss the case as human error and recall the relevant parking charge.#staysafestayhome

Hi Amethyst,
I'm still unsure of what I need to write on this defence reply
I've read the reply should have basic, to the point paragraphs
But should I include the fact that I was in Belfast
Name of driver and his address
Details of payment and times to include human error factor
I will then write the reply today & post for you to kindly critique and suggest amendments as this has to go tomorrow at the latest
Many thanks
