      Hello everyone.

      Just realised it has been 3 years since my last post and I always meant to come and give an update but a lot happened and I never did.

      When I came on this site I was at a very low point and learned a lot. I was in significant debt but fighting through it with your help I avoided unfair practices and also learned better financial management. A small update below;

      Hoist dropped their claim - £7071. Barclaycard came after me for a separate claim and I followed what I learned here - £6700. Other various debt collectors for various debts - approx £6000. The total is approximately £20000. All the debts listed I fought back using what I learned here. I am not proud of it nor am I gloating - I made mistakes and learned a lot. The system is also very unfair and the bulk of my debt was charges racked up over the years I tried to tread water. 6 years ago I was in severe debt totaling approximately £35000, had multiple defaults on my credit file and suicide was an option. I now have a clean record and managed to purchase a home in December using the money saved whilst fighting the debt collectors. It feels like a different life.

      So why am I here again? I have come back to say thank you. Thank you to all the contributors on the site and the owners who dedicate time, effort and resources so that it carries on existing. To contribute to this site, I am going to pay for 10 year VIP membership and help wherever I find I am qualified to.

      Thank you all and if you are reading this and in trouble just know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

        Wow, that's absolutely fantastic to hear - well done for getting things back under control and not letting the DCAs walk over you. Stories like this are why we are here and why empowerment is so important. I hope things continue to improve for you Please stick around and pass on your experiences to others - it really helps to hear from others who have been through it and come out the other side.

        And thank you for your donation - it is very gratefully received.
