No they never gave me a response after my defence was submitted all i have received after that was a letter saying that they will be proceeding with the claim. I don't have £155 to spend. Should i just send them updated defences and witness statements?

    - - - Updated - - -

I will send them the updated witness statement. I am just going to try my best. I wish I could just have someone look at everything I have.

Do not worry on the £155.00

That was only if you had to amend your defence by submitting an application notice

This can be done as stated by a simple witness statement for free

Your defence stands as submitted, this is just your witness statement to accompany your exhibits and it doesn't require payment of a fee. I don't know where the £155 came from, that would only apply if you had to make an application for something, such as an amended defence. Not applicable in this case.

If I scanned everything and uploaded it would someone be willing to maybe just have a quick glance at everything for me? Obviously i would need to email it or private message someone as it has my details on.

You don't HAVE TO but it wouldn't hurt if you did. :thumb:

People have been known to turn up for hearings in jeans, they have also lost. Not a direct connection but it wouldn't have worked in their favour. :nono:

With regards to representing yourself in court, dress code, etc. you may well find this little guide helpful: http://www.barcouncil.org.uk/media/2...online_use.pdf

                        Scroll down to page 20:

                        Dress for success

Dress as smartly as you can for court. If you have a suit (including a tie for men), then wear it. If you do not have a suit, there is no need to buy one specially.

what! you want to see how Juries can turn up as I found out few years ago, 3 of us dressed smart, the other an array of holes in jeans, un washed slacks, and skirts nearly being worn.

I agree to dress smart if you are either the claimant or defendant, that is either a civil or criminal court. Judges are predominantly ex public school etc and are conservative in nature as to respect and tradition, and rightly so.

Juries on the other hand are different. The selection process of a jury member is taken from all sections of the community. That can be seen as either a positive or negative contribution to aid democracy. Saying that tradition dictates jury members dress smart as you are showing respect to the court and to the rule of law

Juries are a double edged sword

Jurors are different, they are there to deliberate not to win or lose the case themselves. They don't have to make a good impression, in those trials it is the accused who has to make a good impression on the jury, not the other way round.
