Re: Cabot Financial and old egg loan-CCJ Being sought

8: I have asked the Claimant if we may agree to extend the time period allowed for filing of my defence pending receipt of documents (as allowed under CPR 15.5), but they have declined.
when you rang them, did they refuse your request for an extension? Or did they just tell you that it was on hold as per post #29?
Amethyst and nemesis45 would be able to tell you if you should add that they advised you to not do anything as it was on hold (but without proof they said it, I'd say don't add it)

Re: Cabot Financial and old egg loan-CCJ Being sought

They did not refuse my request but I did outright ask them for an extra 28 days and was told that I did not need it because my matter was not hold by them. The person said they would not do anything else till they received paperwork from their client. Although I do not have any proof of this statement. I have not received the 'promised' email. I can leave that bit out? Is there anything else that I need to clarify or add?
I really appreciate your time on this matter.

I'd leave it in ... you asked for an extension, they didn't specifically say "no" but they didn't give you one! So, 8 stays :tinysmile_twink_t2:

It reads OK to me ... it's due in on Wed 21st, so if you can hold off posting it on MCOL until tomorrow/Wednesday I'm sure others will look it over too

I agree Nemesis, I do not trust them one little bit either-the person from Dryden did not actually send the specific email required. Which speaks volumes in terms of their intentions.

that's why the defence is going in on time The OP was told on the phone today that the matter was on hold until they get the documents, but they'd probably go for a default judgement if she just sat back and waited

I'm really getting on Cabot/Retsons et al case with 40 day CCA scam misleading those who don't know that the time scales are set in statute.

Hello Everyone
I got a letter today from Cabot telling me that their client will be taking 40days to produce the documents, tail end of last week I received a Court letter(which just stated my defence has been lodged and the other side have 28 days to respond). At which point my case can be stayed. Does anyone know what Cabot are likely to do next? And maybe advice me, on what to do?
Thank You
