  • Please help Mother in distress re court letters from Cabot

About 5 yrs go my daughter had 2 credit cards Vanquis and Capital One both had about £200 debt. My daughter got a disease and became very ill, she was in and out of hospital we moved twice in that time. She got little flat and a part time job. When she went on the electrol role at her flat the letters started. Worried and confused my daughter ignored the letters which where from Cabot finance until court letter arrived saying pay £680 or bailiffs would come. Alternatively she could pay £50 to have the court consider payment plan. I paid the £50 and she offered £20 month that was 2 weeks ago and we have not yet had decision. Today she received another court letter for the 2nd card for same amount roughly. Again she has to pay by 22nd or baliffes or another £50 to make payment arrangement. Is there anything we can do? my daughter has no spare cash her rent is £425 and she only works part time because of her illness. This is making her ill and she is terrified.

Any advice would be most appreciated - thanks

Was the £50 you paid paid to the court for an application to vary the Judgment?

The letter she received was a"notice of issue of warrant of control" but there was a letter with this saying she could make a payment of £50 for " application to them for a suspension of a warrant and or variation of an order" - that cost £50 we asked if she could pay £20 a month but have had no reply. And now she has a 2nd Warrant of control

It is just my imagination or are Cabot on the rampage with Vanquis accounts? LostSock you are not alone and you have come to the right place for help and advice.
