There's no need to chase the CCA request since lack of response can be used in your defence, however, if you sent a CPR 31.14 request to the solicitors they should have replied in 7 days. If they don't, you can ask them to agree to an extension of up to 28 days as allowed by CPR 15.5. :thumb:

The CPR letter would have said they had 7 days to respond. If they haven't, then you can email and/or ring the solicitors to tell them that, as a litigant in person, you'll need time to prepare a defence and you can't do that without the documents, would they be so kind as to agree a 28 day extension. hone:

If they agree, get them to send you an email with their agreement so you can forward it to the court. :typing:

You could do, provided you've still got enough time. What you could do is write to them, then ring to ask if they've received your letter and whether they'll agree to the extension and ask them to put it on an email. :typing:

If you want to check whether an email you've sent has been read, you could use this tracking service: http://www.didtheyreadit.com

It's a paid service but you can get 10 emails free as a trial, which should probably be enough while you deal with this case.

Re: cabot financial and court claim plz help.

So, Cabot bought a court claim against you for a debt they have no record of? clever. Personally I think it sounds like a stalling tactic .

Who actually bought the claim - ie. who is listed on the form as claimant and who as solicitors?

They haven't complied with your request, their court claim gives no other details other than what you have given them to request the CCA so they are in default.

What date is your defence Due ? (issue date plus 33 days)

We can write back to them if we have time otherwise just defend on stat barred and non compliance with CCA and CPR requests.

Yes, it's calendar days rather than working days, so 2nd August sounds about right. Good stuff.
