I guessed it was someone fishing, but I don't know which account 'Chris White' is code for.I don't have an Egg account, but Who Calls Me? mentions AK and Cabot.
I've had dealing with them, but both are SB now.

Has anyone told them that these debts are statute barred? If not they may still issue legal proceedings oblivious to this fact. Check your paperwork first (last payment and/or acknowledgement date) before responding to anything you receive in writing from AK or Cabot or whomever is phoning you. Never discuss anything on the phone.

Have you changed address since you were last in touch with these people? Could they be calling because you've not responded to letters sent to an old address? Both AK and Cabot are debts purchasers who buy *uncollectable* debts and aim to bully the money out of people. Both are very litigious (AK like to issue statutory demands as their weapon of choice ) They often make contact in the last few weeks before SB kicks in to attempt to re-start the SB clock

Re: Who is 'Chris White?' He Sent Me a Postcard!

They're not actually calling me, they sent a postcard asking me to call Chris White, and I was trying to establish which DCA 'he' was code for. So it may or may not relate to AK or Cabot.
With regards to them, I've not informed either that they're SB as I chose not to communicate with them.
One admitted in 2007 (in writing) that they had no credit agreement, but they've been sending threatograms again for the past 18 months.
The other issued DNs against me at an address I left over 10 years ago. I only discovered them at the start of the year (just before they expired), and I've got no idea what they relate as they never wrote to me about them.

So does anyone have dealings with Datatrace, and can tell me which client Chris White is? It would be helpful to know who is chasing me. Thanks

No doubt a non existant identity, like HSBCs old Pankhurst on letters? stop worrying the answer lies above just a name on a threatogram card part of the silly DCAs process, telling you they will call on such & such, means telephone call ( to make you panick into contacting them thinking they are going to knock on the door) do not forget anybody in a DCA job is un-employable elsewhere.

I get that it's a fishing letter, and that he doesn't actually exist. I'm not worried about it, I was just trying to establish who is attempting to contact me.

I'm not sure the names on the cards are codes for specific clients but possibly which 'team' at datatrace are dealing with your case.

I've had a Mr Green and Mr Brown one in the past - just binned them.
