  • Cabot stopping mortgage

Help ! Mortgage won’t be approved as I had a default for a next catalogue ( showing 0 balance ) but it’s been duplicated by Cabot and is showing a balance of £218. Can I get either/both removed as surely there should not be 2 recorded for 1 debt ?

Give Cabot a call, and check your records whether you did have an unpaid amount remaining on the catalogue - or call the catalogue company and check with them. See what you can find out and what the facts are then you'll have an idea how to challenge the default / get it settled.

I apparently did owe the catalogue company. Happy to pay but I can’t have two defaults for one debt surely ? If next registered it can Cabot re register it with the same dates etc ? I’ve never received anything of either so had no idea. They drop off in December but I want to move house
